Zelia is a scramble of Eliza. In that sense, named for Eliza Rickman who I first heard about by listening to The Weather on Welcome to Nightvale. Name chosen in part due to the accent she's wearing, which is also a nod to Nightvale's 'weather.' For those not in the know The Weather is the segment of each Nightvale episode where the podcast radio host plays an indie song whenever he takes/needs a break.

The planesrunner's name is a happy accident or subconscious choice lol. I was looking for something based off a scramble of Rickman and dropped a few letters to make it work better imo. This name just so happens to be pronounced like Erica, which is the name of every definitely-not-angels-they-don't-exist angel-like-being in the show. Spoiler: Angels eventually get legal support much later in the show to claim their existence and for all citizens of our weird little town to be able to acknowledge that and use the word angel.
