• “And I was born to it, as you were. When it was still just beginning…” He wanted to tell his story, to help this young soul feel understood, to reflect worries with wisdom. Unfortunately, he always shined too bright for any words to be heard. “The sky is cold but this warmth will greet you every morning. Answer tomorrow’s calling, for a new day will erase the storm in your mind.”

• This one too, he believes, would listen to that advice. After all, when the world had been so cruel, they still felt warmly protected by his benevolent light. It was their only hope against the darkness that seemed determined to devour them. “We have no other choice. We must find some way to live on, like everyone else. Keep creating your stars, for you cannot be me or anyone else for that matter.”

• Did he say the wrong thing? Was everything that went down his fault? The silence filled him with regret. He feels haunted by the past, every sunrise is heavier. That voice still echoed, “If there’s a god who watches over us, I don’t know him at all. It’s not you.”, it must have been true, it hurts way too much for it to be a lie.

• He wanted to make it right, reunite the friends. But no matter where he looked, that soul was somewhere his light couldn’t reach. “You do not have to answer tomorrow’s calling, we can wait until after you sleep if need be. Your dear friend still waits for you, I believe all eternity won’t be enough for him to forget you, so I hope you’ll find a way to come back. The sunrise still waits for you too.”

• His sadness scorched the land, leaving it barren and dead. No plants grow here anymore. Dead grass crunches underfoot, reminding him of the days of spring. Rain avoided these fields, he wanted to plead for understanding, generosity in troubled times, but the tides too receded into the distant forever. His light glowed around the ashes, trying to fill in all the gaps with new life, but nothing could bring back what had been lost here. From now on, this sky was barren of stars.

• He moves on, as he always does. But everything has changed, spring wasn’t eternal anymore, he was tired. He couldn’t keep up, sunsets after sunrises, again and again, one more and it suddenly was winter. Bittersweet he thought, his light was so dim, if the stars came back now it could finally outshine this dawn. He was still waiting on them to come back.
