Evensong

Having Alkali for a mother instilled a sense of pride in Evensong, and her mother was in turn proud of her daughter's magical prowess. Evensong is a spellcaster as well, and has spent many days lost in practicing her craft. She specializes in manipulating darkness and as a child was known for stealthily moving through shadows to surprise any adults who weren't paying enough attention. As an adult, she has maintained her stealth skills and uses them to spy on the various clans of Sornieth.

She has high standards for herself, though she has the bad habit of holding others to these (sometimes unreasonable) standards as well. When she went searching for a mate, she decided that she'd observe them and determine if they would be worthy enough to continue her lineage. She would look for a male that is strong with both magic and physical prowess.

That dragon ended up being Aric, a being who radiated power. There was something ancient and almost wild within him. She attacked him to test his prowess, and after a satisfactory battle she evaluated his mate potential. Yes, he was the right choice.
