Captain | Kya's Crew | she/her

Personality:

The Captain is a bold and brash dragon who laughs loudly and often. Hotheaded and impulsive, Kya’s favorite hobbies aside from getting into trouble are eating, drinking, and gambling in good company. She’s very affectionate towards her crew, and tends to express that affection in a very physical manner—she famously once accidentally shoved one of her smaller crew members overboard with an affectionate tail-slap. Her personality is big and can be a bit overwhelming at times, but her crew adores her.

Backstory:

While not one of the three main clans, Kya’s motley crew of pirates make fairly frequent appearances in the lives of the other dragons in the area. Though they’d come through the area a few times before, they made their first real appearance in the lives of the Outcasts with quite a bang: they sailed into the bay during an unexpected storm and crashed their ship against the rocks, damaging it badly and stranding them in Outcast land. Cobalt reluctantly allowed them to stay with the Outcasts for a few weeks until they were able to rebuild their ship and be on their way. In return, however, Kya declared the Outcasts friends and vowed not to steal from them anymore as thanks for housing the crew for a while. Now they’re sort of reluctant friends of the clan, periodically stopping by to exchange rumors and supplies. Cobalt always sighs a little whenever she sees their ship on the horizon, but the younger dragons are always very excited, and even Cobalt and the older dragons have to admit they enjoy themselves swapping stories with the pirates for an afternoon.

R E L A T I O N S H I P S

Merra
Despite their drastically different personalities, the two are close. Very little manages to stay private onboard the [ship name], with most of the crew knowing absolutely everything about all their crewmates, but the one perpetual mystery is whether Kya and Merra are romantically involved. Kya is certainly very affectionate and physical with her, and Merra is certainly very gruff and embarrassed about it, but then again… that’s kind of just how both of them are…?

Cobalt
Kya really admires Cobalt’s tenacity and strong morals, and considers her a close friend. Cobalt is… less convinced of this. She finds Kya a bit overbearing, doesn’t like how much she makes herself at home in Cobalt’s clan whenever she stops by, and disapproves of her thievery. Still, she makes an effort to be cordial for the sake of diplomacy, and even she has to reluctantly admit that Kya is a good captain who cares about her crew in a very similar way to how Cobalt cares about her clan.
