Biography
{ Ursula }
♡ she/her
♡ young adult
♡ Pearlcatcher earthknower
Seirios' daughter is a thoughtful little animal, named after a thoughtful beast, which sometimes comes down from the sky to share in dragons' scavenging of the ruins.
There has never been much room for a self in all these thoughts; from an early age, she has been looking after people.
Looking after people demands a specific kind of intent, a being-there, that makes it very difficult to find time to dream.
When her brothers Al and Z died, one after the other, the incident threw the clutch into disarray and sent shockwaves through the clan. To give herself some other task, she began to say she was "surveying", and rapidly developed an actual, genuine concern for and appreciation of the ecosystem on which the Ruins stand. Along with her surviving siblings, Elnath and Alnilam, each of whom has a different related interest, she keeps a log about some aspect of home; hers is the relief and particular idiosyncrasies of the land, its soils and stones and trees and mosses. She knows quite a lot about mosses.
And about grief, but she would rather tell you about the mosses. They have to be looked after just like dragons, did you know?
Before all this, Ursula was very listless. She's still a little bit listless now, but it's a bright listlessness, a narrower scope not to know what to do in. The world is clear and shining, not as frighteningly big anymore. The next time someone is lost in it, it will be easier.
