FLAXEN

Flaxen began her adult life working as a repairwoman in Goldensparc. She soon found herself interested in machinery and became an inventor, making quite the pretty penny off some of her creations. She soon ran across a Ridgeback named Saboteur while working a late shift in a factory. Instead of turning in the Ridgeback, who was there to swipe company secrets, Flaxen swapped notes with him. They met up now and then to trade secrets, until they were inevitably caught. Saboteur went into hiding, but Flaxen was forced to flee the Shifting Expanse entirely.

Flaxen wound up in the Mirrorlight Promenade after a while, and found that her skills were well appreciated. She had an excellent time repairing others' machines in a place where repairmen were difficult to find, and she had a large, open space to work on her inventions. On one occasion she was fixing the power in the home of a philosopher named Luciento. She small-talked with him, as she did with all her clients, and found that she quite liked speaking with him.

She was back the next week to fix something else, and found that Luciento had awfully bad luck with anything that ran on electricity. Eventually, he broke down, admitting that he'd been breaking things on purpose in order to talk to Flaxen again. She smiled and laughed, telling him that she knew about his obvious crush on her. Flaxen had had a few casual flings in her life, but she felt something special with Luciento, and the two soon became an item.

After some time, bounty hunters from Goldensparc caught up to Flaxen. She and Luciento were forced to flee their home. Soon enough they bumped into the Kitetail Caravan, and found it a very welcoming place. Now, the two share one of the many floating wagons. Flaxen continues to do repairs for others, and tinkers with trinkets and minor inventions in her free time, while Luciento continues his philosophy, buying and trading scrolls and old books with the many traveling merchants the Caravan comes across.
