Hatched at the gorge on the border of the Shifting Expanse and the Sunbeam Ruins, Correspondent Fateweaver inherited a mutation caused by the converging energies of the two domains: lightning eyes, but magic much stronger in the light department—she resents this immensely. She attempts to pass as a Light dragon by covering her eyes and researching philosophy (to a suspicious extent).

Despite living her life as a light researcher and journalist at Sunport, her feelings toward her chosen deity are not so straightforward. To her, the Lightweaver is one half of the reason for her constant identity crisis. (Stormcatcher is the other half.) Because of this, she's dedicated her entire life to irking the two deities—but not exactly in a sophisticated manner. Whenever Sornieth Weekly holds a writing competition, she's writing terribly paced, purple-prose deity fanfiction.

In response to the paper turning down her biggest title, The Sorniethan Shift, she began doing live readings of the work in small towns across Sornieth. The short story was even more criticized for its bad writing than for its blasphemy.
