LORE

Ayin had always been talented and powerful from the moment he was born. It was clear that he, just like his mother, was destined for greatness, and he should've been a prince of the Kingdom who worked at his mother's side.

Alas, things rarely ever go as we want them to.

Inexperienced with his powers, Ayin got lost in space and time, far enough that even Allison had trouble finding him. He was scared and alone, crying out for help.

It was unfortunate that the wrong ears heard his call, and before anyone could do anything about it...

... The Organization scooped him up as an experiment.

Being so similar to his mother as he was, they didn't want to... damage him too much, so to speak, but that didn't mean they were nice to him. They tried to fool him into joining them willingly, and when he wouldn't obey them, wouldn't trust them, they would punish him. Despite not really wanting to, Ayin was forced to train under the Organization, and even complete missions for them. He wasn't loyal to them, not by a long shot, but he also couldn't get out. He couldn't escape.

He missed his mother, father, and uncles and aunts. he missed the people in the Kingdom. Why hadn't they come for him? Did they not care about him?

Slowly, Ayin starting becoming hopeless. He felt abandoned and alone, a prisoner of the universe.

But then... she came. Furious and ferocious. Almost feral in her attacks, destroying everything around her. She was merciless, not a single soul spared from her magic and blade.

Alicia.

A fury wearing his mother's face, but wrong. There was a glare, a hatred in her eyes that he'd never seen in the mother from his memories. They were so similar, and yet...

The moment she laid eyes on him, she snarled.

"Oh. You're one of them."

And Ayin didn't know how to reply to that. He- he tried, tried explaining that he'd been kidnapped, that he didn't want to work for the Organization, he didn't mean to-

But she merely scoffed, pinning him to the wall with ease- oh, she was strong- and growled that that was not what she meant. She seized him up, eyeing him up and down, and then asked him if he had any reason she should let him live.

He sputtered- he wanted to see his mom- his family, they were looking for him, surely-

... But, were they really? The doubts crept back up, they hadn't come to find him, after all. He hadn't seen them in years, and... were they even looking for him?

And Alicia. Alicia saw straight through him, a small smirk curling on her lips.

"Are they really looking for you, now?" she huffed. "Are you sure they haven't forgotten you?"

"Are you sure they didn't just abandon you to your fate?"

And, the thing was... Ayin wasn't so sure that they hadn't.

He hesitated, for a moment, and Alicia's grip tightened, her face sobering, before she let him go. Once again, she eyed him up and down, looking over the scars Ayin had accumulated during his time with the Organization. He heard her mutter something under her breath, only catching the word useful...

"Don't you want to get back at them for what they did to you? For abandoning you? For hurting you?" she smirked, "not just your mother, but the Organization as well."

Ayin swallowed. He... should say no. He should, but.

The cold fury of abandonment, a burning feeling in his chest that he'd been trying to ignore, was fueled by Alicia's words. He hadn't wanted to believe it, but how could he ignore it when he was being smacked in the face with the truth?

Alicia took a step forward, her ponytail swaying behind her.

"Don't you want to get revenge?"

He shouldn't have. He shouldn't. And yet.

"I do."

His breath shuddered, as more words tumbled out of his mouth.

"I want them to feel the way I did," he said, voice growing stronger, "I want them to feel the betrayal. The pain. The loneliness."

The words came out of his mouth, and they felt... good to say. It felt good to acknowledge it. It was satisfying in a way he didn't even realize it could be.

"I want them to hurt."

Alicia grinned at him, a glint in her eye.

"We've got the same goal, then," she said, "but what will you do about it? I'm doing pretty well on my own, you know. I hate you and your kind, even if we're kindred spirits."

Ayin stared back at her, looking her straight in the eye.

"Let me join you," he said, "there's power in numbers. Let me join you."

Alicia cackled, throwing her head back, before sticking her hand out. Ayin took it, and Alicia firmly shook it.

"You should be useful to have around, at the very least," she huffed, "My name's Alicia. Let's make these traitors pay."
