- born in the shrieking wilds, where the deities and their dragons alike tear each other apart trying to seize control of the dead gladekeeper's fertile lands
- she shunned dragonkind and had little of her own, ceding the outer shield isles so she could deny the natureborn the great labyrinth isle more fiercely
- and after the flamecaller re-erupted the volcano and left the gladekeeper as ash in the godless sea, there was a vacuum that every deity left rushed to fill

- his mother aglaeca was a deity-ordained necromancer in the fire legion
- there is no full time deity in the wilds which means a) no mass of godsmagic for dead dragon's magic to get automatically funneled towards b) dead dragon's magic has to be manually collected by whatever deity happens upon it first
- so necromancers in this context are just extreme healers, and allowed to keep the limited troops fighting no matter what
- toeing the line of messing around with dragonmade life. they aren't supposed to make permanent repairs

- he was one of aglaeca's few surviving children, catching magic in the scant air a hard feat, and she not allowed to help
- and her first surviving child to be allowed to live and fight in the same legion as her, most being as she had been, forced to go to training as scarcely a yearling
- she was a young dragon who'd been fighting in the dominance wars ever since she was a child, sent away by her own mother, and having someone who was uniquely reliant on her was so, so important




- was killed in battle, losing his head overboard into the godless sea
- his mother was there. she snatched his magic from the air even as it poured from him, forcing it back around his bones, and going beyond her rights by sealing the wounds with nature magic
- she grew him a new head of wood and vine and heather

- and when the flamecaller roved back over the wilds, he did not come away, but she saw what aglaeca had done
- the flamecaller did not appreciate her taking liberties beyond her rank
- and since she needed to oust them from view of her legions, she sent them both to virulent for clout from the sunrot alliance


- found around the logging camps upon the scar
- mainly due to aglaeca's work as a shadehunter but also he knows he's bad to look at and doesn't understand how virulent is a health resort for bad to look at dragons because he's blind and also has never been to scrimshaw
- he can use the ambient nature magic to his advantage out on the scar

- can't talk normally as he has no vocal cords or tongue
- and the gremesvires stopgate (put hand in magic blast thoughts in head) doesn't work because he's not made out of slime/magic
- his sister was inspired to become a speech therapist by him
- learning how to manipulate sounds out of liquid magic, his voice is small and deepset and muffled
