[insert blurb about octarians] note for design; ref is down further but he's basically a shorter, stubbier octocommander with two tentacles like the twintacle octarians. before s3 he looks like any other octocommander other than the extra tentacle appearance-wise, but he plays around with wearing different clothes after he and anarchy reunite properly after he gets de-fuzzed note; while snare here is primarily an oc and unlike others doesnt have as big of a canon counterpart (ie anarchy is neo agent 3 or the song, clickbait is the amiibo or the song etc) he can count as 'generic octarian' for iktr - colours end up kinda screwed due to his time being fuzzed, also still has a little bit of fuzz to him. so unlike your quote unquote 'typical octarian' he's usually pink with some yellow markings or splatters. he can change his ink colour*, and usually just matches anarchy *(we dont know much about the tentacle octarians compared to their octoling counterparts, but i think that they can do that, plus have some form of swim form or equivalent since they're inherently still a kind of inkfish due to octolings and all that jazz) - is he anarchys bio or adopted brother. man i dont even know at this point, honestly theyre just siblings thats that. - after being defuzzed he fulfils his dream of wanting to try and make music. he uses his two tentacles to do so and he absolutely dominates on the drums :)

gonna quickly note this done so i dont forget, and can clean it up later

- anarchy (previously karaoke or 'key') and snare were siblings in the domes, found adopted or bio it doesnt matter.
- both were at the 'concert' when the first inkantation was played (key would have been about 8 or 9, still in their inbetween stage from tentacle to ocotling, while snare would have been 12 to 15)
- key was... off, after it. very fidgety, nervous, flighty, almost as if all of their current wants and actions were overridden by a stronger urge
- at some point, snare looks away and when he looks back, theyre gone. immediate panic
- he spends ages looking for them, learning that a lot of others were doing the same for their families. a lot of octarians had just suddenly... vanished
- key of course had been driven to leave to flee to escape by that strong wanderlust, that desperate need to see the light to see the sun to feel its warmth no matter the cost
- this eventually leads them to somehow making their way to the splatlands, setting up in the desert and scrapping until they met soup and then eventually clickbait. that same wanderlust combined with their experiences had all but pushed out all of their memories of the domes, (though theres also probably some memory loss due to the age they were at the time) other than a few glimpses here and there. so they eventually took a new name (anarchy after one of the first songs they heard on the surface, for some reason it just felt... right) and continued to live by scrapping until they saw a strange inkling that seemed familiar somehow though they couldnt place why, and the story of splatoon 3 begins

- on snares side of things however he keeps searching, becoming an octocommander (from just a regular twintacle trooper) so that he could try to protect and help those that were left, still trying to find those that had left
- stuff had been starting to look like it was going back to normal other than the lower numbers and sudden influx in glittery pink stuff. and then another inkantation occurs and once again chaos ensues
- this time snare decides to go a bit rogue, resuming his search for his little sibling, and making his way to the surface amidst all the chaos
- during this time he learns through the grapevine from other octarians that some of those that went missing all the way back during the first time were just living on the surface. some weren't so lucky, when the news spreads of a deep sea metro that had some sort of facility? that was killing and using octarians to do... whatever it was they were doing
- snare searched desperately, hoping for any sign that key had made it out safe and was just living in inkopolis, and sign that they hadnt had the misfortune of being taken by the company behind those sick experiments
- but he had no such luck. for he would be captured alongside many others before he could have the chance to search elsewhere as the news of another, fresher place spread and inklings and octolings would soon migrate to
- blah blah blah he'd be fuzzed and sent to do grizz's bidding whatever the heck he was doing with them before the rocket
- until eventually a now not so little octoling would come, stop the big bad bear, and reunite with their long lost brother



- the lead up to their reunion would probably revolve around the nnss teaming up with octavio to find a way to help the fuzzed octarians (and maybe see if theres anything else that can be done for the sanitized ones, if there are any like ded who were either only partially sanitized or can come back from it)
- they start with the easiest thing first, being the fuzzy octarians due to immediate proximity. this starts with anarchy going back in to the kettles with a lil help form o.r.c.a. to find the ones who are actually fuzzy octarians and not manifestations of the fuzzy ooze (as its kind of been half and half up until that point)
- during this anarchy is probably asking octavio a bunch about dome life and learning more and more, to the point they start recounting their own past there, including vague blurry memories of a tentacle octarian. (currently unsure on whether octavio would be able to recognize and inform anarchy about their past, or if he'd only be able to tell them after learning of the memories that they were probably a close family member or friend. probably just the latter, he knew of all the missing cases and such but there were a lot of them, so he'd probably only be able to recognize anarchy as a missing octoling from certain key details, but not exactly who they were)
- regardless after this anarchy works harder, especially after learning that while a lot of octarians went missing after both inkantations (with a quick glare directed towards the culprits of said song), a lot more started happening when people were searching for them.
- blah blah blah anarchy wonders if this octarian they're remembering looked for them, and if they were one of the unlucky ones
- they'd mainly just scope out levels, note down how many octarians they could find and see if they could get any to come back out of the level with them
- this leads them to one where theres a lot of higher ranked octarians, lots of snipers and commanders alongside some of the lessers
- which leads us to the reunion which would probably follow the original idea but be changed up a little.
- anarchy is cornered and unarmed due to losing their weapon in a moment of chaos, and is currently pinned by several octosnipers
- soup was busy sneaking around trying to see if any of the octarians would respond to him, when he turns back and notices the situation.
- ignoring his own safety is yells out to anarchy, and moves to rush back and do something to help, maybe be a distraction so they can reach their weapon or some ink or something
- and the slightly weird-looking octocommander soup had been investigating stirs.
- once anarchy is out of the situation, fuzzy ooze manifested fake octosnipers gone, they move to continue through the level only to see a lone octocommander off of his turret in their way, staring blankly at them
