Ratchet
Autobot CMO & Confidant to Optimus Prime  Ratchet has seen the rise and fall of countless civilizations. He is so old as to have helped raise Optimus when he was not yet Prime. He kept an eye on the clutch Optimus was hatched from, and he played a major role in guiding Optimus throughout his development. What began as a mentorship turned into a friendship as times changed and war began to grow. Ratchet, for his part, spent much of his youth studying the art of medicine in other territories and only truly settled just in time for the war to begin. He laments the loss of their home more than any other and has moments of rage where he will snap at anyone and everyone. Ratchet is a gruff and tired individual, but he is good deep down. He's merely exhausted from the weariness of long life and war combined into an unholy mixture. Much of his time is spent checking supplies and tending to wounds. But when he has a spare moment, he is known to read and tell stories to hatchlings. He does everything in his power to keep the culture of his people alive, even in a foreign land. Many hatchlings have had visions of grandeur due to him. |
Ratchet is not officially mated to anyone. He has an on-and-off relationship with Wheeljack that has largely come to a halt in light of Bulkhead finally setting out to court the skydancer in question. He was previously mated to a Decepticon known as Deadlock, but with Deadlock missing, Ratchet has since moved on for the most part. Currently, he has a strange relationship with Optimus, where the lines between friendship and courtship are incredibly blurred. He has helped raise several clutches alongside the Prime and has joined Optimus's inner circle in order to better advise him. If anyone asks, they are not romantically engaged. But there are rumors and the fact that Bumblebee calls Ratchet his father as well says a great deal about what may be going on behind the scenes.
