From start to finish, Kolya can be described as incredibly exuberant. Every sweep of his arm speaks the thousand words that he can’t say, and he makes no effort to mask his gesticulation unless he is surrounded by fragile objects or too many people. It seems as though his veneer is a million variants of happy and excited, and it would be easy for a passerby to label him as an airhead and continue on. It would be much harder to do so if they stayed in a conversation with him for longer than five minutes. Kolya just happens to speak with tones that give off the impression of ignorant joy, all because he packs every syllable with undercurrents of his favorite word: passion. To him, he’s learned that if he wants to focus, then he has to get that much more into something in his own way. It forcibly turns most of what he says into something that comes off as cheery to the general listener, though fluctuations could be found if he were to steer towards darker subjects. Still, that is unlikely — it would take a mood swing to shake things up, or the nausea and cold sweats he gets when he can’t be in anywhere but a car for transport. He cares little for the opinions of others if they don’t pertain to his cooking or plating, and he can get unknowingly aggressive in the face of trouble, far from the sort to simply yield and move on despite his general amiability. When his intelligence is put into question, he slows down with sharper and more pronounced movements, disapproval bleeding out of every limb. Kolya is not malicious at the core, but he isn’t against hinting at violence to scare people off, just as inclined to be belligerent as he is to be energetic. Being the sort to prioritize actions in the end, he probably would put his tools to less practical use if he thought that the situation called for it. It is oftentimes up to his friends to ensure that he doesn’t commit to a ridiculous impulse. Background goes here. |
