Haki is a prodigy of wind magic...yet in contrast to the immense power and understanding they wield, they behave in a very childish and carefree manner. Wind dragons famously age slower in comparison to the rest of the elementals, too, so many of the dragons who meet Haki are thoroughly confused as to her true age. Haki's entirely unbothered by other dragons' opinions of them, though - their boundless optimism is a choice, thank you very much, the world is cruel and unpredictable whether or not you find a reason to smile! Born in Cloudsong, Haki represents their region quite well - a natural attunement to Wind, an unbridled compassion for all the creatures of the world, an open definition of "family", and a love of PuckerberriesPie! Like her sister in kind, Haki has endless energy and enthusiasm for trying new things, but she never sticks with them quite as long as Carmine. Balls of yarn, collectible deity figures, and different-sized drums litter their lair, and far more abandoned hobby-stuffs have been repurposed for use in other ways. When the sisters were first invited to Sunbeam Grotto, Haki worried about leaving the land of the Windsinger - until she realized, duh, there's wind everywhere, and especially by the sea! Something about the air surrounding the clan felt different, though, in a way Haki had never experienced - especially the first time they tried to bend it to their will. Haki's influence on the wind slipped, just for a split second, like the flash of fishscales as it dodges a spear. Not an analogy she would make, though, at least not before she'd learned the Water dragon's way with words. In the moment, Haki was struck - until they reached out with their magic again, and felt the tendrils of air snake around their arm. It was as if the air needed to greet her, too, assess if they were as compatible as she'd assumed they would be. Such a fascinating feeling, to be touched by wind with a mind of its own! Haki is still new enough to the clan that there seems to be boundless places to explore and faces to greet! The first few months of their residency were spent crawling over the beach, the forest, the cliffside, and of course flying back to indulge in the Windsinger's territory. Recently, Haki has dug (figuratively, there are enough tunnels already!) into the Grotto proper, exploring the caves and caverns within the network... |
