The V models' presence (and V1's rampage) in Purgatory did not go unnoticed by those keeping tabs on the dimension.

After its second defeat and subsequent death, V2's remains were retrieved by one of those same watchers, who rebuilt it with spare parts sourced from both the Gaoler Orders and its original manufacturer.

Unable to let go of its grudge towards its predecessor, V2 struck out on its own soon afterwards, intending to find a way to return to Purgatory and claim its victory against V1 at last.
