On the battlefield, Solstice is quick and decisive. He moves at the brisk pace of a winter wind, slicing through the air like a dagger. He slashes with claws and teeth, far too swift for his enemy to land a single blow. This warrior has seen many battles. The shadows of his conquests haunt him– follow him like specters. His shoulders tighten whenever somebody stands behind him. He flinches at the sound of a slammed door. His battle-worn heart beats with the tune of a warrior’s drum. He is tired, so tired, but he knows, deep down, that he must always press on. The clan needs its fighters– and Solstice is among the best of them.

In order to foster the next generation of warriors, this quiet Skydancer is always willing to show his clanmates some of his battle moves. Whether they’re young adults seeking proper training or hatchlings looking to impress their friends, he meets everyone with the same amount of unending patience. Though he does not say much, he is an excellent teacher. Every dragon comes out of his lessons having learned something important. His empathy almost makes him appear soft, but the other dragons know better than to underestimate Solstice. His sparring partners never see that initial strike coming. He’s a viper: quick, level-headed, and deadly. The other fighters look to him as an example of extreme battle prowess. They are always grateful for his advice.

As a dragon of few words, Solstice spends much of his time alone. He is quite shy for such a fierce, regal-looking warrior. He carries himself with perfect posture, making some dragons wonder if he might be a tad full of himself. This is far from the truth. He merely struggles to carry on conversations. Socialization is not his strong suit, so he prefers to blend in with the background, wallflower style. Talking makes him nervous, as does receiving attention from others. Though he might look like a king, Solstice often feels like a fool. His clanmates find his awkwardness endearing, but his anxiety prevents him from accepting this at face value. His warrior’s confidence vanishes whenever he’s in a situation where he must make small talk. He ends up commenting on something far too trivial, such as the weather. He stumbles and trips over his sentences, meanders around his point, and eventually ends up walking away, mumbling to himself. The other dragons chuckle to themselves. That’s just Solstice. Humble, bashful, and reserved. In a scrap, he’s a completely different dragon. His duality perplexes many, but in his heart of hearts, he knows that his clanmates care for him. This is what pleases him most of all.
