With the clan almost since its inception, it took Caligovenetus some time to share his story with the others. A legend on the battlefield in his younger days, his fighting prowess meant he was revered by his original wildclaw clan. He never lost a fight, and as such was looked upon with respect and some awe as the natural leader of the group - a position that made him vastly uncomfortable. Leading, he felt, was not in his nature. He just wanted to cruise along in life; to train and train others, to explore the world around him and to enjoy the little things. So against the wishes of many of his kin he left to find his own way, ending up here.

It was about the third day after a group of wildclaws stopped into the lair that Caligo noticed one young female watching him train hatchlings with Kazimir. She was small for a female, but moved with the kind of grace that suggested great agility and strength. With each day that she returned to watch him - and it was obvious that it was he, and not Kazimir, that she was watching - he found himself growing irrationally more and more bashful. The day she chose to stay in the lair rather than leave with her travelling companions she strode right up to him, introduced herself as Venternoctunix, and strongly requested (kind of demanded, really) that she join the combat training team. He could barely reply, and was saved by a bemused Kazimir who granted her request on a trial basis. Fascinated by the intensity of her ferocity despite her small stature, Caligo worked up the courage to talk to her bit by bit over the following weeks. He was working up to asking her to spar with him, just the two of them, when to his astonishment she challenged him to a match with her prize being their courtship. The match was hard-fought on both sides, with her agility and speed on once side and his size and power on the other. After more than an hour Kazimir declared the match a tie and immediately, between laboured breaths, Caligo asked Venter if she would court him. Their courtship was brief, and they officiated their bond soon after.

Caligovenetus is fairly solid and broad for a male wildclaw, and an imposing figure in a room. However, he's more of the strong silent type - some might go so far even as to call him shy. He is a bit distant to outsiders and chooses mainly to associate with those who have decided to live here. He is, however, much more comfortable around visitors whenever Venternoctonix there too, as she carries a lot of the conversation. Though some of the more awkward members of the clan see him as strong, popular and the kind of dragon who 'fits in', his own feelings of 'not belonging' for most of his youth make him very sympathetic to the purpose of the lair, and he will always go out of his way to help others who appear awkward, shy, lost or otherwise out of place. He has taken a quite a shine to the brilliant but awkward Leo, looking out for him especially, and the two have become fast (albeit unlikely) friends.

After Kazimir he is the most respected combat trainer, followed by Maritima.
