///the scarred wasteland certainly isn't the place to be frail and beautiful, and as a result there are plenty of powerful veilspuns in the desert. their bites can crush bones into tiny pieces, and their claws are sharper than knives. he has never been one of those veilspuns.

from the beginning, before he even had a single name, he's always been the "weak" one. beautiful he is, with his snow-speckled star scales and vivid red eyes. he's reminiscent of a blizzard. it makes him noticeable, which... wasn't the best thing when he was a dragonet. his peers certainly enjoyed tormenting him for that very reason.

eventually - or maybe due to the constant attacks - he developed a certain skillset, if you could call it that. there is a predisposition to magic for veilspuns, in their sinewy strength and sharp angles. dal, as was his first name, became... unnoticeable.

many years later, and he's still no deadly weapon of mass destruction, but his magic thrives within him, and he's gathered seven names from the places he's been to. caratacos is the one he goes by most often, and you'd be lucky to ever see him. he is invisible even under the rotting heat of the desert sun.
