RotnCore has had some rotten luck in his life
He had often thought otherwise, growing up under the name of HopenField, surrounded by his kind and learning about the various ways to achieve Balance within oneself. With his mother providing good food and a cozy shelter, he grew up thinking he was the luckiest dragon in Sornieth. However, as it turned out, this was far from the truth. His bad luck had simply not caught up to him yet. His mother had never spoken much on where they had come from, only that they had been hunted and chose to hide themselves and their identity amongst the Aberrations. While never getting to know any family beyond LorenLei, RotnCore grew up being taught various family values and traditions passed on through his mother and some from his father, AsranMaul. From his mother, he learned how to hide himself and how to cover his tracks, leading both Prime and Support head to become great trackers and hunters. This became very useful to him when his bad luck finally showed. He had been young and foolish, fighting a quarry far beyond what he could reasonably defeat. Shortly, he began to falter in the ferocious battle against his foe and searched desperately for a way out. But it was not meant to be, and he was killed in battle. To this day, he does not know what killed HopenField, but he used the opportunity to hide even further than his mother did, eager to cut ties with whatever has haunted her so. He ran, changing his name to RotnCore and hiding far away from his mother's Court, despite the harsh pull it has on him. He hopes finding a new location for another Court to call his own will ease the ache. He traveled for a long time, through many different places all over Sornieth, seeking a new home. After a few months, he began to lose hope. After a year, he began to forget the landscapes he had spent his hatchling years in. But he did not find a home, not for quite a while. Fifty years may be little in the lifespan of a dragon, but it was still over 18 000 days spent searching, hunting, scavenging, surviving. Finally, when taking another job as a courier, he ended up at a small teashop with a beautiful garden, right in the most shadowy place of Sornieth. An unexpected sight, but one he enjoyed. Not to mention... well. He might have fallen a little for the dragon tending to the gardens. But he was also certain that there would be little point in pursuing her. Still. He asked for a job, and he got it. Now he gets to spend his days near Ahyi, helping her out and protecting the garden from vermin. Maybe one day... maybe one day he'll tell her. The strange sense of familiarity he got in some parts of his new lair did not bother him, though had he recalled any of his hatchling and fledgeling memories, he might have found that in the end, he had simply lost track of his birthplace and found his way right back, grown and changed in ways that those who knew him would have had trouble recognizing him. |
This dragon is part of four Lineages!
They actively try to escape their fate as a Temporal Rifter. Not registered in the Courts yet. Registered in Dirtfoot Legacy and Abby Alley.
With his mother being a member of the Autumn Court, he grew up knowing decadence and gluttony, and is forever bound to the Court, unable to truly leave. Not to mention outsiders find him to be incredibly greedy.
Killed by too large a quarry, HopenField managed to revive himself by sheer willpower alone, but has, in the process, lost access to his Time Lord powers. This suits him just fine, as he is trying to cut ties with what has haunted his mother so, anyways. Using the opportunity, he faked his death and now lives in safety under the name of RotnCore
As a member of Dirtfoot's Legacy and MilknSilks Lineage, RotnCore cares deeply about his family, even if he ended up removing himself from his blood relatives. He does care for the bonds he forges and hopes to have a family of his own one day.
His Permanently Balanced State allows Rot to be the Prime head in control of the body, 24/7. Meanwhile, for the sake of her Support Brother, they took on male pronouns to even things out with no complications.
