xx Talfryn wasn't born in the The Deep. She hadn't even heard of it until she met other dragons outside of the lab. Yeah, Talfryn was an experiment. Scientists wanted to see if they could design the perfect warrior, barely affected by emotion, damage, or pressure and temperature changes. When the Undertides were first introduced to the modern world, scientists took an immediate interest to their hardy nature and well-designed combat mechanisms. They were disappointed by the fact that they lacked clawed limbs, but figured they could make up for it by introducing the Tentacles gene.
She was perfect in all of the testing. She could dive to depths where the recording equipment imploded without feeling a change and fly so high no dragon could breathe. She could hold her breath for literal hours without access to oxygen and not even falter in her abilities. After years of indoctrination, she was released under moderation as an assassin and spy.
xx The Undertide's strong jaw gripped you by the back of your neck and paralyzed you with its venom. It flew high in the air, higher than you'd ever thought possible, and you couldn't do anything. You couldn't move. Struggling against the iron-gripped tentacles wrapped around your midsection was impossible. Its poisonous spines dug into your scales and your thoughts fuzzed over. The air was so thin that it felt like every breathe you pulled in did nothing, almost as if you weren't breathing at all. Then the Undertide plunged down, horribly fast, fast enough that you thought you left your innards behind when you fell. The falling lasted for what felt like ages, but you knew it was just seconds, maybe minutes. Time was warped to your brain; the water came towards you. The Undertide flared its wings just in time, slowing you to a nearly neck-breaking stop before plunging into the water next to Wind territories. Having already lost oxygen from being so high in the atmosphere, you thrashed with what little energy you could muster, fighting against the grip and venom. The Undertide continued dragging you quickly deeper. The pressure weighed on you like tons, a physical darkness clouding your mind. As the last of the air was squeezed out of you, you fell limp, floating in a space without sensory input before slipping into a mental darkness you'd never come out of. image.gifimage.gif
