Biography
mauraukes - sulking snarl
- raised in an ice noble's estate as a body double for intrigues targeting the lord's actual kid
- left behind in the scramble to flee the estate when Virulentian sails were spotted on the horizon
- captain tauri is a stickler for ransoms and moved them aboard the cardamom queen to keep ahold of him while negotiating with the family
- it took all season to get the family to say 'yeah there's no ransom'
- tauri thinks their angsty antics are hilarious and encourages it
life itself was such a precious resource in the icefield that any dragon could theoretically be kidnapped at any time - but the threat particularly was a way of life for the noble folk
intrigues ran rampant in the icenoble circles. to and against their families, each other, their deity and his gaolers; they rightfully saw shadows in every corner. when one faces an unending parade of coups and ransoms and uprisings, one begins to take precautions
this was best represented in the fashion of the dowrybusk - a corset sewed armorlike with rows of jewelry and gems, so a noble could sleep in their wealth so they didn't loose it when forced to flee with a moment's notice
otherwise, their palaces were mazes of hidden passages and escape routes. Their food testers had food testers. They sent empty carriages ahead and dressed as a servant on horseback. Every noble dragon was fumingly paranoid and carried out schemes to try and Fort near anyone or everyone
Who could say where name was found? Bought or borrowed or stolen as a babe, and in any case, all because they looked strikingly similar to a nobleman's child and could be used as a tool.
