The nantang, or viperwolf, is a hyena/wolf-like carnivore that has 6 legs, a lean, powerful torso and has evolved to travel swiftly over long distances in search of prey. Very few predators (the mountain banshee among them) will attempt an attack on a viperwolf. Viperwolves almost always move in packs that can mass together into a highly cooperative hunting party within seconds of finding prey.

Which clan does your Na'vi belong to?

Different clans have different affinities with crafts and with the flora and fauna around them.



Omatikaya: Toruk (great leonopteryx), weaving & music; 3 of the 6 total Toruk Makto in Na'vi history are from this clan, including Entu. Adulthood rituals are Iknimaya (taming of an ikran) and Uniltaron (dream hunt) which shows your spirit animal.

Anurai: Palulukan (thanators), music (bone instruments) & jewelry-making; live in local caves

Tayrangi: Ikran (mountain banshees), dive-fishing & swimming; live on the eastern coast

Olangi: Pa'li (direhorses), cavalry; live nomadically in the plains. After the battle of the Hallelujah Mountains, the survivors were absorbed into the Omatikaya clan.

Tipani: master hunters, must first master moving without sound before learning to kill; use armor and shields made from the molt of the Txursum (cuirass crab).

Kekunan: Ikran, master fliers

Huyutikaya: Nantang (viperwolves)

Rey'tanu: "Flat-Headed Capra", rock climbers

Hulanta: pottery & weaving; live in a Kelutral (hometree) in wetlands

Tawkami: master botanists, chemists, & alchemists; colorful sashes around the waist indicate skill level. Known for knowledge & lorekeeping, use many plants for everything, sacred mission to preserve the balance of the ecosystem. Adulthood ritual is creating their own ionar (rider's glasses). Live in the mountain jungle.

Metkayina: Tulkun of course (second *sapient* *species* on Pandora!), fishing; live in an atoll (ring-shaped reef surrounding a lagoon) with a mangrove-like forest. Adulthood rituals are unspecified but include one's spirit sibling Tulkun, and completion is marked by tattooing.

Ta'unui: Tulkun, fishing; live in an atoll close to the Metkayina.

Sarentu: diplomats & storytellers, can use Tarsyu (Eywa flower)

Aranahe: Kinglor (silk moths) & weaving, peaceful

Zeswa: Zakru (akin to elephants); warriors & Pa'li riders. They are nomadic, following the Zakru through the plains & protecting them while surviving off of Zakru milk. Zakru are implied to be intelligent. (third sapient species???)
