Poseidon takes his role as both guardian and king very seriously and considers everyone in Clan Nereid to be his charge. He tries to rule by kindness, but his charisma is low and he often comes off as scary instead. His red eyes don't help.

His trident is believed to be a long ago gift from the Tidelord, passed down through the generations. He spent his youth searching for the Tidelord, and though his search came to nothing, he still firmly believes the Tidelord will return one day.

He and his wife Amphitrite are on good terms, though he wishes she were more affectionate. He cares deeply for his adopted daughter Sirena and doesn't approve of her choice of men.
