Field Division | Warrior
she/her | asexual

___firev2.png
Osteo's breath may burn corpses to cinders, but Vitrik's scales themselves melt flesh as if it were wax. Simply standing next to the Banescale can deliver third degree burns, and she seems to pulse with the heat of the volcano in which she was born. Known for being fickle and unstable, Emperor's Bane houses her for her services in the Field Division, but she only takes part in assignments on her own terms. Her mood fluctuates like a flame, smoldering calmly one moment and roaring with fire the next. Her unpredictable nature has caused most dragons to avoid her if at all possible - well, that along with the fact that she'll burn anything she touches. Unlike most Banescales who prefer aerial combat, Vitrik rarely flies, and instead charges at foes with blazing ferocity. Suspicious and paranoid, Vitrik is always analyzing her surroundings and meticulously examining her interactions with others. She doesn't trust anyone in the Guild, and no one trusts her. She prefers it stay that way.

Rising from the depths of the Great Furnace, Vitrik was imbued with an overabundance of fire magic - so much so that her body can't contain it all, her scales constantly smoldering and burning. Her own parents were never able to embrace her, or comfort her, leaving her disconnected and wondering why she had to be born this way. Desperate to feel as if she belonged, a young Vitrik didn't hesitate to say yes when some shadier dragons offered her a position in their new Coliseum. She was told her "gift" would be useful there, and she'd be loved for it - she wasn't told that this new position required her to kill other dragons in combat. In the underground Coliseum, Vitrik reigned champion for years, unable to bring herself to leave as she knew there was no place outside of its walls she could go. Her years of being captive there have led to her wings being stunted, making flying rather taxing for her. Vitrik has never told any dragon in Emperor's Bane what exactly occurred when she left the Coliseum, and she refuses to utter the name of the dragon who'd helped her. Whatever did happen, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that it hadn't been pretty...

______ Crude and antisocial, Osteo can be well described as "a real piece of work". In fact, the only dragon he gets along with is Sinew - as the three push one another to see who can give Outbreak the most migraines. Sharp-tongued and harsh, Osteo speaks his mind. And what's on his mind ... usually isn't that nice. He must always be the one to chime in with unhelpful criticisms, complains and insults other Division members, and generally just causes a headache - something he takes relish in. Smugly. Because he's just ... like that. However, he's too valuable of an asset to the Guild for them to let him go - Osteo's skill with his fire is unmatched, and it burns hotter than any dragon's at Emperor's Bane. This, of course, makes him the most efficient at burning up Emperor and Imperial corpses. He's notorious for not leaving a single scale behind.

______ Osteo keeps his Charge an extremely well-guarded secret, but is insistent that he has one when others are skeptical. He hides it away in his lair; the sputtering flame of a small, delicate oil lamp. Osteo has tended to the flame for years, gently feeding it and keeping it lit even through the harshest of conditions. While alone, Osteo is completely silent - and enjoys the company of his flame as he draws with charcoal, the finished works decorating his walls. The thin parchment would most certainly catch fire in an instant, if given the chance - but each paper remains wrinkle-less and pristine. No one has seen the inside of Osteo's lair, not even Vultur - and he desires to keep it that way. Another secret the Guardian keeps is one of a more intimate nature - he's head over claws for the Field Warrior Marza, who he finds extremely endearing. Despite his reputation for not giving a care to what other dragons think of him, he remains much too intimidated and nervous to even talk to the Mirror directly.
