The winds howled as the storm raged on outside the cavern. Claws scratched against the Earth as Tarot grew anxious. The aura she exuded was that of a circus performer moments before the final act began. Huffing and puffing, she stared at the frozen King. "I should not have allowed you to have your way. These eggs belong to the Ringmaster! Your domain is not my home." She hissed through clenched fangs, practically foaming at the mouth. Though, she knew deep down Hailstorm was right. They had to be born in the North. Her cabin fever was getting the best out of the dragon. She nearly missed the sounds of faint crackles. The blizzard raged, even in mid-summer, Hailstorm's home knew nothing of heat and the sun's soft caressing touch. His eyes began to glow a faint aquamarine. Sniffing, he lunged towards the clutch. Tarot gasped in horror thinking her companion had lost his mind. Rushing towards her precious hoard, ready to fight if need be, she had to save them. His massive tail snapped at her face as tiny growls echoed across the cavern. "The clutch was partially frozen. Never question me again. The three little beasts are safe, but at a price." Tarot nearly missed what he meant before her gaze stopped on their eyes. Amethyst. Looking back at her mate, she nodded her head. They would do great things. Become extraordinary at their chosen desire… "May the Night Circus know a new era." Maniacal laughter erupted through the North that cold, snowy night. The wolves bowed down to the future of the Northern empire. Owl's screeched with joy, their Queen would soon be near. And the foxes, knew all too well what that night had brought. Only the most clever understood that doom at last would reign. He had always been partially frozen. The frost that nearly claimed his clutch would never truly thaw and from the moment Howl was born, his heart had been encased in ice. He’d been curious at one point about what if felt like to have a heartbeat. It was a small price to pay, he supposed, in exchange for his existence. Even his mother had scoffed, “what use does a beast have for a beating heart?”. The archaic magic that infected his lineage was enough to keep him alive and over time, the curiosity slipped away. What use, after all, would he have for a heart. - Born cursed without a heart, child of Tarot and Hailstorm (Asura G4 | Naomi G6 | Ignis G6). - Initially followed in his family's footsteps, a guide for lost and nameless souls.
