Anamaria resented the shadows of the Tangled Wood. For they obscured her beauty, and she longed to be seen by other dragons. Thus, when she came of age, she set off to find a new clan. She believed the Starwood Isles an ideal destination, admiring the colorful magic and bright skies. However, the journey required her to travel through the Scarred Wasteland which was a dangerous feat for any shadow dragon.

Luckily, she encountered a fellow aberration, Annabelle, who also sought to travel Sorneith. They understood there was safety in numbers and banded together to find a safe place to spend the night.

As the sun started to set, they found a path. Amidst the contagion, it was a rare dragonmade structure and they followed it. As they tread upon it, the air cleared and strange plants sprouted. The path ended at a meadow. Within it, several other aberrations lounged and conversed.

Upon seeing Anamaria and Annabelle, they paused. The largest of their rank, Vlad, rose and introduced himself. He explained that they had entered his territory, a haven for aberrations and part of a larger clan called Sanctuary. He welcomed them and asked if there was anything he could do.

Anamaria explained that they sought a place to stay for the night and asked if there was space for them.

Vlad laughed and assured there was ample space for two lovely aberrations as themselves. In fact, they would be dining soon and were welcome to join.

Delighted, Anamaria and Annabelle ate with their fellow aberrations.

Over dinner, many complimented Anamaria, remarking upon her magnificent frills and pearly hide. Though one praise stood out amongst them. The aberration who constructed the path, Silas, admitted that Anamaria's bright eyes were the most beautiful he had ever seen.

In turn, Anamaria complimented Silas's craftmanship.

For much of the night, they conversed and Anamaria was reluctant to retire but tiredness won out and she slept.

Come morning light, Anamaria second-guessed her journey. For Silas's path had led her to a clan of companionship and plenty, and her heart skipped when thinking about his praise. She admitted this to Annabelle and wondered if they should stay.

Annabelle agreed and commented that perhaps they need not travel so far to find their new clan.

So they announced their intention to stay to the aberrations.

Afterwards, Silas asked to accompany Anamaria on a walk. She agreed and the two tread upon the path that brought Anamaria there. They mused about the concept of fate and how it brought them together. Upon that path, love blossomed between the two and they welcomed many hatchlings into Sorneith.

Today, Anamaria can still be found strolling that path, welcoming any other aberrations who follow it in search for their own fate.
