Biography
Silas
archeologist | thoughtful | meticulous | curious mate: Anamaria As one of the first aberrations hatched in the Sanctuary, Silas was acutely aware of his significance. He'd been told of the aberrations' frailty and how he would help build the foundation. His brother, Zephyr, rose to the occasion. He carried himself with pride, took many mates, and even built relations between the Sanctuary and the Sea of a Thousand Currents, earning the praise of many dragons. Meanwhile, Silas felt upstaged. He tried to keep up by mimicking Zephyr's charisma and taking mates of his own, but none of them made Silas happy. So one day, without telling anyone, he left. For he was a weak link and a stronger aberration should take his place. He set a course to the Abiding Boneyard, determined to wander the rest of his days. At first, the quiet solitude put him at ease but in time, boredom struck. There was little change in the Abiding Boneyard, and without a clan, days passed slowly. To pass the time, he sought to construct a settlement for himself. He sifted through the bones but found something unexpected: a dirt-covered tile. It was crudely crafted and its characters of an ancient script that he could not read yet it intrigued him. He set it aside and continued digging. He found more tiles and piled them with the first. He soon gathered a small hoard and studied them. He imagined the dragons that built the pieces, the lives they led, and if they knew their handiwork would survive. It was then that Silas had a realization. One tile on its own was insignificant: a trinket at best. Meanwhile when brought together with others, they sparked curiosity. They could be used to build something greater than itself but the single tile could not see its part in the grand scheme. Silas then gathered the tiles and made his way back to the Sanctuary. When he returned, the Sanctuary was overjoyed to see him. Zephyr in particular scolded Silas for leaving and asked what he was thinking. Silas then showed the tiles to his fellow aberrations and recounted his journey and realizations. Vlad, the leader of the Sanctuary's aberrations, applauded Silas. He commended his insightfulness and said the Sanctuary was lucky he returned. For such philosophies could inspire other aberrations struggling to find their place. Silas thanked Vlad and promised he would always stay in the Sanctuary to help build a strong foundation. He then invited his fellow aberrations to aid him in constructing the tiles. They accepted and together, they laid them and created a pathway to the aberration territory. Since then, many aberrations have walked their trail and heard the story. Thanks to Silas, no aberration that enters questions their significance in the grand scheme.
