Aava

Always hear others out and remain open-minded; the day you think you know everything is the day you have the most yet to learn.

Born a Fae, Aava and Alga, her Tundra mate, founded a clan on the edge of the Fishspine Reef. The pair of them had great success bringing dragons from across the world together into their clan and raised a fine family together. Sadly, things were not to last, Alga felt a greater calling and after much consideration and many long discussions with his mate, the Tundra left to serve the Tidelord directly. Proud of her Exalted mate, Aava did her best to keep her promise to him that she would not fall into despair after his departure.

She worked hard to raise their children and eventually took other mates, though none were ever the same to her as Alga. The Tundra had been special, unique and try as she might to move on with her life she was unable to keep herself from wondering what would have happened if he had stayed. She spent many long nights staring out across the open sea, as though waiting for something, a sign perhaps. To her great surprise a sign did arrive, one night, shortly before sunrise a graceful form emerged from the waves, a water sprite come to be her familiar. Aava took the rare creature’s appearance as a sign, a last gift from Alga. This provided her with a much needed sense of closure and allowed her to turn her thoughts to the future.

As a Fae alone she felt unable to properly protect her growing clan and sought out the means to perform what she felt to be a very necessary ritual. After many months of careful searching and many more of preparations she scribed the scroll necessary to change herself into what she felt was a more suitable form, one that was perhaps more true to her nature. When the ritual was over she emerged as a powerful Guardian.

Despite her new form she still retains many of her Fae traits. Like most Guardians she would fight to the death to protect her clan, but like a Fae she is not above resorting to trickery and fighting dirty to be certain of a victory with minimal risk to her and hers. It is rare that she has to resort to such measures though, for her clan is mighty and her reputation as a noble and just leader has earned her the respect of the surrounding clans. Someday she hopes that her son Kari will follow in her footsteps and become the leader of the clan, but until then she is quite capable of ruling on her own.

She had lived long time though she was by no means the oldest dragon of her clan. But this burden she carried seemed to age her faster than others.

She felt age settle home in her bones. They felt heavy and surreal. It made her long for early days she remembered when flying was as easy as swimming. These days wind could not carry her as the water could.

She watched her children as they completed their duties. If she were to step down - to leave they would be ready enough. Her son would manage though it would be difficult. Her daughter would stand by him and support him when the challenge of leadership would become too much. The clan would help, too. They had created many strong bonds between them all.

If she were to leave it would be difficult but they would manage. But she did not wish them to manage. She wished them to thrive.

Three Card Reading

1) The Empress: Creativity and generosity fuel her, built out of Patience and Love for her people. She is about experiencing the senses and embracing nature and it's language of silence. She is a Creator. She is the embodiment of motherhood and life, and she has a direct tie to nature and her subjects, her children. She is the protector and mother of all.

2) The Hierophant: With roots reaching deep within the Earth, the Hierophant symbolizes ancient knowledge and tradition. But beyond that he is secrets and mysteries. A teacher, he believes in unearthing hidden magics, and in the rigidity of traditions, rituals, and ceremony. There is none wiser than he, and none are more well learned, especially in the ancient arts.

3) The Chariot: Symbolizing triumph over obstacles and achieving victory, the Chariot represents focusing intent and pushing forward, establishing an identity and maintaining discipline and self-confidence. She holds the reigns of power and authority, and she drives forth with an unwavering certainty in any cause she faces. She is unyielding and will never be overcome.
