“Deep rivers run quiet.”

Born alone in the Earthshaker’s domain without a family or a Clan nearby, this brightly coloured Fae learned quickly to fend for himself. He was forced to grow fast, not quite experiencing what it meant to be a hatchling or to live among loved ones. He remained nameless, for in his solitude he did not require one - until he found a familiar made of living, breathing stone on the edge of his homeland. The Granite Guardian did not speak, but the Fae felt it was only right to introduce himself. “Fin,” he named himself, a bold decision, but the name felt right on his tongue, and his new friend seemed to approve.

Fin felt, soon after, that it was time to leave for the rest of the world. His days were no longer lonely, for his Guardian joined his side, but the Fae avoided other dragons. It seemed he was cold to others, but in reality he was shy and skittish around strangers. It was only when Fin approached the Sea of a Thousand Currents that he met dragons he felt more comfortable around - specifically Aava, leader of the Clan of High Seas.

The Fae-turned-Guardian invited Fin to join the Clan, and he politely declined at first. But his Granite Guardian seemed content here, and Fin reconsidered - perhaps it was time to see what all this fuss about Clan-life was about. Finally, Fin returned to Aava and accepted her offer. It was not long before the two had become mates; and although Aava’s first responsibility was to her Clan, Fin found a place in her heart. He often can be seen fluttering around her, or else curled around her neck. It is peaceful, and there is no requirement to be socially active - perfect for the both of them.

A third Guardian has since joined Fin’s quickly-growing family. Although Fin’s familiar approves of Aava, the familiar is not fond of this newcomer. Redghost appeared among the coral one morning, from the depths of the lair, glaring at Fin. “You’re my Charge,” the Guardian said in a gruff voice, to Fin’s astonishment. This was a blessing for Redghost - he was not required to leave the Clan of High Seas nor his Sono - but also an annoyance to both the Granite Guardian and the Fae. The last thing Fin wanted was to be someone’s Charge; and the familiar was not looking forward to sharing Fin with yet another Guardian. Over time, however, Fin was able to work out a compromise with his Charger, and the two are now quite close.

With the rest of the Clan, Fin is quiet and often keeps to himself. Although he offers friendly, shy smiles to his Clanmates, he is still getting used to being around so many other dragons all at once. In large groups, he finds himself shutting down, making excuses to escape - but with just one or two Clanmates at a time, Fin is slowly opening to the company and beating his social anxiety, bit by bit. It’s a slow process, but there is no rush. To contribute to Clan life, Fin went out of his way to start brainstorming and building various traps - although originally designed to capture intruders and keep away enemies, these come in use for hunting parties, earning the trust of many in the Clan.
