Red Rose Flowerfall Rose, the Tolerant

Rose always tried her best to be kind. That was the way her parents raised her. Since the moment she hatched, to when she grew and decided to finally go off on her own, they always made sure that no matter who she met, no matter how they acted towards herself or others, that she would treat them with understanding and care.

For over the first year of her life she stayed in her home, holding no position of nobility or any such thing that would make her worth noting to most. She had a bit of a reputation among those around her, as she seemed to have no enemies due to the lack of conflict she both caused and took part in. It made life among others simple. Everyone saw her kindness and returned it.

That was until she left. Until she met Giles. Never had she met anyone so self-absorbed, so oblivious to the needs of others. Perhaps it was an excess of confidence, or maybe he had one too many successes in his life. While it was fine for a person to be confident, as she tended to be, this just seemed to be too much. She couldn't help but catch the way others took notice, and seemed to react with distaste.

A part of her knew she should stay out of it, getting into something like that would likely result in conflict she always meant to avoid, but he seemed to be unable to make friends... and she didn't want him to feel lonely.

And so, they became friends.
