Giles

Giles and his two siblings of the same age were adored by their parents, spoiled rotten from the start. They were told they were the smartest, most beautiful and most talented coatls out there.

Giles believed it. All of it. He would happily sit there, fawned over by both of his parents. And when he was a little older, he would strut around his birthlair to make sure everyone else believed all of it too.

At least... he tried. Most members of Algor Mortis, the clan he was born in, did not seem particularly impressed. The few who did indulge him seemed to be practicing a great deal of patience rather than admiration, which led him to believe that maybe all of these other dragons were idiots. He knew himself to be the most gorgeous, intelligent and skillful coatl out there, after all!

He probably should have spent a little more time actually putting that to the test, before the time came for him to leave the lair. This realisation hit him... oh, a couple of hours after he'd already decided to grace a different lair with his presence. No turning back now...
