Neviah's ascension to the throne was a slow and calculated one. Originally acting as an ambassador for the clan when called upon by the Shadowbinder, or when the clan itself has messages to relay to their patron deity, she was careful to present herself as someone satisfied with their rank. Behind the closed doors of the cathedral is where she began to garner the trust and loyalty of the newer additions to the clan, until her number of followers far outranked those of Cecil's and Micah's.

On the day of Micah's coronation, she made her move, and the throne has been hers since.

Legend has it that Neviah was born of the Shadowbinder Herself, forged from Her discarded scales and breath, brought to life deep in the Wood where the light of the full moon couldn't reach Her. She is terrifying to behold - the air around her crackles with dark magic, flowers wilting at her feet, birds ceasing to chirp when she grows near. Her steps are silent but her laugh sounds like a death rattle, hollow and haunting, and she grins like something with nothing to lose.

No one knows whether Neviah is a dragon or an entity. They probably never will -- Neviah only speaks in riddles and rhymes, never lying but always withholding some kind of pertinent truth. Her teeth are sharp, too sharp for a breed of dragon who typically thrives on insects and plants. Since arriving at Dorsia, she's never had the same lover twice - once they've fathered a clutch, they're never seen again, though no one seems to know why.
