Biography

APOLLOS
The Erstwhile Gatekeeper

Clan Role: Bodyguard
Mate: Lydia
Pronouns: he/him
Bio: For eons, Apollos stood in front of one of the temples to the Lightweaver, watching all who would enter that sacred place. He stood still as a statue, only his eyes seeming to follow whatever dragons passed through the entrance or walked by outside it. The only time he came to life was when one with a black heart full of ill intent tried to enter the temple. Then, the runes along his sides would begin to glow a bright gold and Apollos would awaken and get rid of the hostile intruders, even fighting if necessary. Once the problem was dealt with, he'd return to his original position and go still again, just a statue and nothing more. He felt nothing but a desire to fulfill his sacred charge, given to him by the Lightweaver at the very start, when she used a small bit of her magic to form him. There was always another statue there with him, as well, on the other side of the doorframe--a female Imperial, because the Lightweaver apparently does have a sense of humor.

That had been all there was to it for a long time, until Apollos's life was changed in an instant--one short-sighted dragon with far more magic than sense and he was coming to life for a new reason. A silly reason. And when he tried to return to his previous duties, he found he felt...something new. Something restless. He didn't like it. To make matters worse, the mage who had awakened him was facing some serious consequences of her actions, and as much as Apollos wanted to leave her to face them, it seemed his life was, oddly, tied to hers now. That was the only reason he cared what happened to her, for his own sake. After all, he never cared about anyone or anything other than the Lightweaver and her temple.

But now, he is far away from that temple, fleeing from trouble that the foolish mage got them both into. He wants to return, wants nothing more. And yet...it's curious, how much more there is to the world, isn't it?
