Eloistra wasn't born into the Blood Moon Dancer life, much less raised in it. Rather, when she hatched, she found herself in the slums of some city in Shadow’s domain, parent-less and alone. Thus, her childhood was spent learning how to fend for herself, striking out from the shadows of small alleys and side paths, and even using her own magic to hide herself in less closed-off spaces. She learned her techniques rather swiftly, however she learned even quicker that the only one she can trust, it seems, is herself; that any assistance or goods offered either came at a price or with strings attached; that if she wanted something done, she should do it herself. A little before she hit adolescence, a rather peculiar Wildclaw, who introduced herself as Etera, approached Eloistra after noticing her painlessly steal some food from a passing dragon while hiding in shadows. Etera offered Eloistra a place to stay - a little hidden-away den for those who'd rather stay out of sight - along with food and drink. All that Eloistra had to do was join Etera's little pack of thieves and pull her weight in handling their clients' "odd jobs." Eloistra initially rejected, retorting that she had been fine so far, and even if she'd lived in the slums her whole life, she's nowhere skilled enough to handle such jobs. Etera responded that she easily had enough skill to handle some jobs, but if she wished Etera could help her hone her physical and mental skills. Etera could make her as cunning, as agile, as deadly as an assassin like herself. Eloistra was still skeptical, so Etera said she didn't have to stay permanently, and that she could think about it however long she wanted. Etera told Eloistra the directions to the den, and bid her farewell, adding in that she hoped to see Eloistra there. Eloistra initially disregarded the offer; she’s managed to stay alive on her own this long, why risk putting her trust in someone besides herself? But as the days went on, and she mulled over it, she considered that, perhaps, it would be beneficial. Receiving an assassin’s training could potentially help her survive better, maybe even thrive in these slums. And having a consistent source of necessities and shelter isn’t a bad thing. She still didn’t like the idea of potentially leaving herself vulnerable to whomever resides in the pack, but ultimately, she decided it may be worth it. She made her way to Etera’s den and - tentatively - joined her little pack of thieves. All her adolescence, Eloistra stayed with the little pack - consisting of Etera and two other Wildclaws, the thief Izanami and the den guard Reaver. She found living in the pack not unbearable. She fairly regularly had water, food, and shelter, and though she had to do her part in keeping the food stores stocked and handling jobs, she otherwise had the freedom to do whatever she wished between jobs. For years, though, her free time was spent training with Etera, learning how to handle assassin's weapons to strike swiftly and silently, how to play the mental games and tricks - and how to see through said tricks. Even after she and Etera had considered her training finished, Eloistra continued living with the pack into young adulthood. She felt that while she may not fully trust the other Wildclaws, she felt comfortable enough with them, and considering she didn't have anywhere better to go, she might as well stay. She still had to help provide food for the pack, and with her training finished she was expected to help even more with client requests, but she'd gotten used to such requirements that she didn't mind. |

One day, after Eloistra had finished a request and was returning to the den, she noticed another Wildclaw - one who's colors eerily resembled her own - following her from a distance. After some time of wandering the slums to try and shake him, she confronted him, asking him what he wanted.
