[Prologue]
~~~
Prince Silkdice and his sister, Princess Silkrouter, were both born to the seventh Queen Silkmoth of the Silk House of the Windswept Plateau. The two of them grew up alongside each other, not quite always getting along. Although they cared for one another, they simply had different ways of going about their goals; many of which were opposing. While Prince Silkdice preferred to strategize and overprepare, Princess Silkrouter truly thrived when thrown directly into a wild situation with no guidance. Prince Silkdice was focused on the family, while the Princess yearned for greater things. The two of them were considered to be the royal lineage of the clan, and Prince Silkdice was expected to become the next King once Queen Silkmoth's reign ended.
A sudden and bloody coup led by the mysterious Chief Warmaster Magmicvulcan, resulted in the Silk House being ousted by the Magmic House. Queen Silkmoth was murdered and the young Magmicvulcan was installed as the clan's new queen; integrating it into the greater Vulcan Empire. As such, the lineage of the Silk House were forced to flee their homelands and make new lives for themselves elsewhere...
YVanQxx.png Not wanting to abandon his homeland, Prince Silkdice decided to settle in the Zephyr Steppes of the Windswept Plateau; establishing a resistance encampment to fight back against the Magmic House and their newly conquered clan. It was here that he decided to make taking back his family's homeland his charge-- a goal he would devote his life to. Alongside him was a Silk House loyalist who was also ousted in the coup, simply known as Bluegolem. Bluegolem became Silkdice's most trusted companion, and together they built the foundation for the resistance. Once the encampment was fully fortified, Prince Silkdice began correspondence with King Soldier; a dragon who hailed from House Soldier of Dragonhome. They quickly became enchanted with each other, and Prince Silkdice promised they could be together once his war was over. Inspired by King Soldier, Prince Silkdice created the newborn House Die of the Windswept Plateau. Much of the early days of House Die were spent gathering supplies for Queen Silkrouter of House Router of the Shifting Expanse. King Silkdice was convinced that his sister's new clan could be a powerful ally in the fight against the nefarious Magmic House.
Now serving as King Silkdice he ruled over the clan as its official leader. Motivated by a desire for political strength, King Silkdice asked Bluegolem for his hand in marriage; so that he may rule as King alongside him. Although his heart still belonged to King Soldier, King Silkdice knew he needed to be smart about rebuilding his empire. Together, the King Silkdice and King Bluegolem sired three children: Princess Silkgolem I, Prince Blueshade I, and Prince Bluepumpkin I. Princess Silkgolem, the eldest, was sent off to House Soldier so that she would be safe with King Soldier and far away from the front lines of the war. Prince Blueshade was rowdy and tough, and King Silkdice wanted to keep him by his side. The King hoped that his child would be able to carry on the fight he started, should he perish. The youngest, Prince Bluepumpkin, was married off to a clan carved into the Crystalspine Reaches of the Starfall Isles. As a result, Prince Blueshade became the obvious choice as the First Heir to the Die Throne.
Now that the foundation of his new empire had been laid out, King Silkdice used his resources to recruit dragons from across the globe to his noble cause. The Windswept Plateau and the Ashfall Wastes had been plunged into a period of war, conflict, and strife as a result of the coup. The two Kings knew that if they sought other clans with ties to the war, as well was wayward resistance fighters, they could build their armed forces at exponential speed. Spectradie was the first hatchling to be adopted, taking his new second name from the House that took him in off the streets. The resistance formed by House Die began to grow immensely, and several powerful dragons expressed their intent to fight for their cause; including the famed Persistence. Aligning itself with nearby clans involved in the string of wars connected to the fall of the Silk Union, King Silkdice was able to form an alliance between the clans. Dubbed the 'Ashfell Armistice', a document was written to bind the clans together in an official union. This union would come to be known as the greater Allied Die Kingdom; ruled by House Die.
[Industrial Era]
With the influx of new dragons serving under the banner of House Die, many voices struggled to be heard. After discussing it at length with King Bluegolem, King Silkdice instituted the new Parliament Persistence of the Allied Die Kingdom. This would allow dragons to elect politicians to represent their values within the clan's governance. This was done with the promise that House Die's monarchy over the clan would become absolute. While King Bluegolem was not completely on-board with the idea of forming a legislative branch (believing that they might threaten the monarchy's authority), King Silkdice convinced him that it was the right thing to do for their people and would allow for a greater pool of ideas to be implemented.
Parliament Persistence was named after the two main contributors to its assembly: Persistence and Galley. The Fae, Galley, had worked very closely with King Silkdice to ensure that the Kingdom's legislative branch would come to fruition. The two eventually became very good friends, and had weekly meetings for sandwiches and tea. However, Galley could not stay with the clan for much longer. When the time came to bid her farewell, King Silkdice gave her a gift of his own: a music box branded with the kingdom's seal. He hoped that it would fit in with all of her other trinkets, reminding her of the time she spent with the Allied Die Kingdom. The King missed her once she was gone, but he knew it was for the best.
Although the First Assembly of Parliament Persistence had already come together, the actual official parliament building still needed to be constructed. King Silkdice decided to move the clan's ruling consulate to the Gale Sanctum of the Windswept Plateau-- further away from the front lines where they could coordinate with local scholars and continue the fight in relative safety. Once the move was made, Parliament Persistence was constructed by Architect Moonlight, who designed the elegant building to represent all of the hopes and dreams of the people of the Allied Die Kingdom. His work impressed both of the Kings so much, that they decided to take him aside, asking him to participate in a project they were planning to begin very soon: Project STEAM.
