Once House Magmic was formed, Empress Obsidianvulcan arranged a marriage between her daughter Magmicvulcan and the noble Tacticalsea. Their union marked the beginning of a new era for the Southern Empire. Together, they dramatically improved its affluence.

With many of Queen Magmicvulcan's children fighter over the throne, the Queen decided it best to name her favorite adopted child, GirlProtagonist, as her successor. While Queen SleepyHeroine, GirlProtagonist's wife, was the commanding force behind their union, many despised Queen GirlProtagonist for 'stealing' the throne.

As Queen Magmicvulcan's eldest son, Tacticalvulcan became the leader behind a movement aimed at restoring those of the 'true bloodline' of House Magmic back to the throne. Empress Obsidianvulcan backed this movement by allowing Queen Magmicvulcan to become Empress; stipulating that the Queen oust the Second Union and install Tacticalvulcan and his wife as the Third Union.
