B I O G R A P H Y

Born in the Sunbeam Ruins and growing up exploring the depths of the Hewn City, Lumina lived a life of reckless curiosity, always poking his muzzle where it didn't belong and getting himself into dangerous situations that he needed to be rescued from, all in the name of collecting materials and watching wildlife. The nature of feral creatures fascinated him, as did the the boiling of cauldrons and the mystery of what each mixture he made could do. Knowing he could not long resist the temptation of the Emperor's Wake- and that going there could get somebody killed should they try to rescue him- Lumina left home to see the wider world and collect materials and survey beasts across the land.

Lumina's travels would eventually bring him to Clan Rafflesia, where he could set up a place to store his beasts and materials, and find dragons to help him manage them. Here, he could make a name for himself and truly pursue his passions without worrying about his own impulsiveness, or whether or not he might get somebody else into trouble. And to herald in this new, exciting life, he officially became Daylily of Clan Rafflesia.

Daylily, though he has grown quite a bit since his days of exploring the Hewn City, has never quite changed. He has remained starry-eyed and reckless, throwing materials into his cauldron to see what will come out and excitedly handling even the most wild of beasts without any protection, happily recording any injuries they cause him alongside his other observations. If one is searching for knowledge on wildlife or alchemy, it is Daylily you come to, as he is always happy to chatter away about his discoveries and share his research with like-minded individuals.

Daylily was sure he would live a life with only animals for company until he met Gladiolus, and promptly fell head over heels for her. His chaotic and rather embarrassing attempts to woo her have quickly become popular stories in the clan, much to her chagrin, and yet she still pays him attention, finding his silliness charming in its own way. Daylily knows she has little real interest in his work, but is delighted that she still listens when he talks, and he's always happy to lend an ear to her stories of travel and battle as well.

During his initial travels, Daylily met Oleander, and the two became fast friends, both sharing an interest in potions and the chaotic results of mixing together any materials they could find. The odd pair works well together, and Oleander is a devoted assistant, loyal to her elder despite the exasperation he can put her through. She can find him embarrassing and he can regard her as a strict, but the two understand each other in a way nobody else really can. As the more responsible of the two, she is usually the one who keeps him in line and reminds him to take care of himself, while he usually deals with procuring work materials for the duo.

Alyssum and Daylily are well-acquainted, much to her chagrin- as the clan's main healer, she is the one who usually has to handle Daylily's injuries when he gets mauled by his beasts or his latest concoction blows up in his face. Despite her obvious annoyance at having to constantly see him, Daylily enjoys her company, and usually expresses his gratitude with gifts and favors, something she is willing to take advantage of despite her low tolerance of Daylily himself. Daylily remains ignorant to her borderline-exploitation of him, simply excited to find somebody willing to praise his work.
