This persistent mage frequently hunts among the clouds, cliffs, and trees, seeking rare insects as much to eat as for their pigments for Runk. Occasionally he assists the warrior-king Maxence with exploring passages and caves with the added bonus of being able to keep most of what he finds.

Born to a pair of imperials, the two didn't know what to do when their child inexplicably became a very tiny fae before their eyes. Hirael was the runt of the litter even before and his mother worried if the hatchling would ever be able to fly on wings nearly half the size of other fae, warning him from going too far from his cozy little nest. The tiny wind dragon instead climbed to the highest tree he could find to prove them wrong and fluttered and glided through the tree tops, jumping from leaf to leaf. The mage has been full of determination since.

When it comes to friendship and love Hirael does not discriminate in the slightest, though he does have a habit of trying to feed even his meat and plant loving companions roasted insects he is overjoyed at catching.
