in order of composition
My heart is an instrument
Its strings blood-tempered steel
Evermore, it sings for thee
_____________
As I lay, a wilting rose
Plucked deftly from my bed
I see the face of God and weep
_____________
Rue's Poem
The sweetest symphony
Was one you wrote for me
To hear your voice, my soul delights
A delicate bird in sky alights
A woven cage of silvers and golds
My tender, bleeding heart it holds
You alone tend the key
Draped in silken misery
How I long to intertwine
Your sweet, fragile body with mine
A pale red carnation upon your brow
The only gift of mine the fates allow
_____________
Zagreus' Poem
In solemn vigil, the noble Hawethorne waits
His branches outstretched to all
Yet He cradles none
His leaves, the wind rips from Him
The fruit He bears is stolen
Yet He offers none
The bounty of His body is bitter
For no boon was He granted in youth
Yet He provides for all
_____________
Samhain's Poem
A peal of laughter echoes
A breeze dances through the weir
Over fields of golden wheat
The spectre doth appear
In his claws an iron sickle
But the grain he does not reap
His hum is sweet and soft
As his charge begins to weep
Though they plead and wail
He shall never leave them be
They may run afar if they wish
But his stolen eyes still see
_______________
Zeru's Poem
Brisk and exhultant
The playful breeze blows
Wind-kissed wanderer
Hie thee home
Wherever it may be
A lone traveler appears
All worldly things
He bore upon his back
Zephyr-blessed creature
His destination forever unknown
_______________
Inky's Poem
A pale and ashen face
Once lost and mourned
Disappeared without a trace
One's destiny scorned
The dying flowers part
a corpse left unadorned
A broken, bleeding heart
left in such a state
the floral bounty turned tart
I am what you hate
A victim of terrible fate
_______________
Inquiry's Poem
Columns of dust-filtered light
Sweep through vacant halls
Well-worn knowledge bound
In leather and twine
Stories spoken and forever kept
Memories held close to heart
All things worth knowing
Fall into reverent arms
Learned sage's cradle
The grandest cathedral of all
Ink drips from gilded claws
And into books beloved
_______________
Amphitrite's Poem
Gentle waves caress the shore
Salty breeze sings cantabile
Birds hang in cerulean sky
Calm and slow, today's ocean
Vicious waters wait below
A cacophony of wind and gale
Beware, all ye sailors
The sea wreaks havoc tonight
Shimmering nacre from within
An abyssal bounty earned
Those who brave her wrath
Are someday richly rewarded
_______________
Gabriel's Poem
O golden-winged Seraphim
Messenger of the divine
Infinite blessing bestowed
Upon thy holy vessel
An eternal waltz unceasing
Played upon thine own horn
His word is thy melody
From pearly gates crescendo
Possessor of the hundred eyes
Sins cleansed beneath thy tender gaze
His love evermore recieved
As we are led in endless prayer
_______________
Flowers bloom under tender hand
While hounds heed only firm command
The duality of wild, natural things
Of things with fangs and things with wings
The word of man is much the same
All manner of things he doth proclaim
With venom and vile he curses and spits
With gentle words his love he admits
The things he says in blinded rage
The words he shouts from human cage
Are disregarded by all things wild
Nature cradles both, the hateful and the mild
______________
The nature of creatures unfettered
Is rather envious to me
Free from the cage of humanity
They do as they please
The words of man hurt me so
Yet cannot touch the wild
I wish to be such a creature
For what is hate to a lark?
______________
Armani's Poem
All in finest silks adorned
His tragic fate is early mourned
A dance until his final breath
Drake’s eternal waltz with death
A glowing soul full of love
His loss moves even gods above
Beloved voice of dripping gold
All enjoy his stories told
Even though his time is short
He speaks to all within his court
Body and heart softest still
Heeds the song of Whip-poor-will
______________
Mielle's Poem
Words spill from a silent lip
Onto pages that slowly rip
Torn apart by many days
A life spent in grieving haze
Eyes turned forever to the sun
He prays his painful walk is done
He writes of love, tender and fair
To one day abandon his own despair
In a homely cavern by the sea
Now lives an author prodigy
Gazing down a steel-gray slope
He finds within a sense of hope
______________
kotan's Poem
The crimson prince wanders
Cruelty escapes his gaze
Cloaked in scarlet innocence
______________
A cloud of bubbles rising
A great expanse of blue
Fins and teeth emerge
From the deepest hue
Light sparkles on the surface
But cannot reach too deep
Creatures never see the sun
In the depths of Ocean’s keep
A thousand meters down
The water is inky black
I gaze into the abyss
And something gazes back.
______________
Verhangnis' Poem
The harbinger of misfortune appears
a lone figure in the scarred wastes
with a hundred gaping mouths
and shimmering silks of sanguine
Mouths starved by cruel claws
a creature driven mad by hunger
his fellows become his prey
and so he is cast aside in bitter exile
Its strings blood-tempered steel
Evermore, it sings for thee
