Resplenda's father was notorious in the Clan, and although he didn't seem to be a danger to other dragons anymore, clan members were reluctant to get too close to him. Daz wasn't hurt by this, he was still a selfish dragon and didn't maintain any sort of relationship for very long anyway before moving on.

Resplenda was a child from such a short term fling in another clan, but Daz was known to have moments of care, and took Respenda home with him. He wasn't much involved in her upbringing though - she was raised by her grandparents.

Her eyes were strange, but not like her father's. They glowed and it seemed that his hypnotism had no effect on her. When she grew older and understood the importance of this, she gave herself the role as mediator when Daz had to meet with other dragons. She would know if he tried to pull any tricks, and knowing that she was there would act as a deterrent.
