Koliai's parents weren't sentimental dragons. They'd had many nests before the one she hatched in, and none of their children had remained beyond fledging. Most inherited their confident attitudes, and others acquired their vanity. It was no surprise that many of them gave themselves to the noble cause of serving the deity native to wherever they travelled to, with varying degrees of aloof superiority. Except for Koliai. She possessed a shyness and lack of self confidence her parents could not understand. She went to the markets with her siblings, and explored the local areas of the clan, put out her interest in going where help was needed. She didn't particularly want to, but it was what her brothers and sisters were doing, so she followed suit. One by one they left, called to their duties, and Koliai was only left behind. Her mother became annoyed, but not at her. She considered such a snub a slight to their family, an offense towards her directly. "The most beautiful of my daughters and no one looks twice?" She huffed. "Well, they missed their chance! You're place is here now. With me." Koliai couldn't help but feel like she'd failed, going back with her mother who didn't quite know what to do with her. Her father didn't even live in the same den and she felt even less of a connection with him. But her mother tried, and Koliai became her assistant in sourcing rare and quality fabrics. But staying within the clan enabled her to befriend trusted dragons, starting with Matthies, who was also an assistant to her mother. He in turn introduced her to his mate, his sibling, Bodhi and their mate, Kuga but she found Resplenda on her own. They met at a market stall, which was funny given they lived in the same place. They both reached for the same bolt of silk. "Ah you should take it, you're Kashan's daughter, right? Theres no way I'm getting between her and something she wants," the Bogsneak laughed. "Oh, well, she won't know. It suits you." Resplendena was insistent she wouldn't get in the way of business, so as soon as Koliai got home, she cut off a length to give to her. That was the beginning of what turned out to be a courtship. Her mother warned her about getting close, as Resplendena was the daughter of the notorious Daz. But his own daughter was the dragon who withstood him best and was immune to his power, and as soon as Kashan met Resplenda for herself she adored her. Koliai was glad, even though she had known Resplenda's beauty, wit and confidence would earn respect from her mother. Koliai is glad no other clans wanted her now. She has found absolute happiness right here at home.

She's aptly dressed in a lot of natural apparel, and can't forget those tutor rings! She's barely under 25 stars, which makes sense. Hope she's in for many more! |
