Biography

xxxxx
78992364p.png Name: Dillen
Affiliation: Hotdog Stand
Gender: Male
Rank: Food vendor

Dillen is a simple dragon, you see.

He has a simple job; he's a local hotdog vendor in the commercial sector of Nexus City, selling freshly made hotdogs to whoever wants one. It isn't the best paying job in the world, but hey, it's enough to make a modest living, which is fine for the likes of Dillen. He doesn't need to have the best job in the world; he has his regulars, with whom he enjoys making small talk and spreading the latest gossip.

It's a modest living, but it's fine by him. He's a simple dragon with simple needs, and a simple life.

... for the most part, at least.

Well, in essence, it's still rather simple: every dragon has a vice, something they probably shouldn't do, but do anyway, because it's enjoyable. Dillen is no exception to this.

It's just that his vice is seeking the thrill of danger that lurks around the sewers and abandoned mining sector of Nexus City; places that citizens are explicitely forbidden from going to, but Dillen has long found ways to circumvent the security checkpoints. It's child's play, at this point, to distract the Nexus goons or MERC recruits that are supposed to keep everyone out. They're there for a good reason, of course; most people don't really question it, being as loyal to Phobos as they are, but Dillen knows why they do it.

Most people would freak out if they knew they lived on top of an entire horde of zombies, Abominations, and other failed Nexus experiments, after all.

To be fair, the first time Dillen encountered them, he was freaked out too. Who wouldn't be, if a ravenous, feral corpse suddenly charged you with full intent to forcefully separate your head from your body with a bite alone? He got lucky he escaped, really, and if he were smart, he probably wouldn't have returned, warned his friends and family, and skipped town.

But... he couldn't deny the thrill of running away from the zombie. That rush of adrenaline he'd never really felt before, that primal instinct that screamed inside of him. Couldn't forget that, despite being scared, how much... fun it was.

So he didn't tell anyone what happened. Not a peep.

In fact, after a few weeks of ruminating on it... he went back for more. And again. And again. And then just running from the zombies wasn't fun enough anymore, so he decided to get into archery so he could snipe the zombies down. And then that wasn't fun enough anymore, so he decided that he wouldn't just stay on the outskirts of the quarantine zone anymore, but go deeper; right into the darkness of the sewers, where even worse creatures resided. Then the mines, and then he started to learn how to fistfight them without getting himself killed, and-

Well. Here we are.

Nobody knows that he does it. Nobody knows that at least once a week, he sneaks into the sewers, or into the abandoned mining sector, just to beat up some zombies and Abominations. He loves his little 'hobby' so much, in fact, that he insists that the sewers are safe to anyone who asks. No need to get them worked up and try to get it shut down, right?

Sure, he could get killed, or even bitten and turned at any point. So what? That's all part of the thrill- the high-octane action of multiple crazed creatures trying to tear you to pieces, and tearing them to pieces instead.

He's a simple dragon with a simple job, a simple life, and simple vices.

Can't really fault him for that, right?
