To an outsider, it would seem that Father Arnett is not equipped to do his job.

On good days, Arnett is able to walk to the temple with the aid of a cane or another's arm. He will gladly give advice to parishers, even though his words slur a little and he looses his train of thought often. He may even read out of one of his hymnals, though his hands shake enough to tear the pages, and the words will run together soon enough.

Another, larger dragon, attempted and almost succeeded in eating Arnett. Their teeth did permanent damage to the tendons in his arms and legs, and when he was dropped, Arnett also received some moderate brain damage as he fell on his head.
Arnett was known for his confused nature for some years after the accident, but that has mostly vanished besides the occasional episode. He can walk mostly on his own now, but has some numbness and pain in his arms. Has physical therapy once a week.
Reportedly, he had somewhat of a personality change after his accident.
