Biography

This Bio is mostly an incomplete collection of odds and ends.

This dragon neither moves nor blinks until approached and asked a question. All questions are answered via keywords sorted by relevance, but a table of contents on a floating lexicon is also provided. This lexicon seems to be entirely made up of links and connections, rather than being a book in its own right. After only a few seconds with Lore, it becomes clear that they are a magical construct in the form of a dragon, containing a plethora of varied lore from inhabitants of Sornieth, along with some entities and worlds from beyond as well.

Even so, Lore prefers they/them as their pronouns, rather than it/its. The latter are perfectly good pronouns, just not for them. This appears to be something of an unprogrammed anomaly. Perhaps they are gaining some form of awareness separate from their magical programming? When asked about it, they respond with helpful information about the variety of existing pronouns anyone can choose and the importance of respecting that choice even if you don't like the person in question. When pressed about their personal choices, they will simply start this explanation from scratch.

Imaginary Q & A
With Hypothetical Visitors

Q: Who are you?
A: This is a complicated, multi-faceted sort of question to ask anyone. I will assume you are seeking a name. L.O.R.E. Unfortunately, the meaning of this acronym did not make it into my data banks and has been long-forgotten. You may call me Lore. They/Them pronouns, please.

Also, my overall design and home are both permanent unless Saronai decides to exalt me, so feel free to hit that star if you like the way I look.

Q: Right...who is Saronai then?
A: There are two in my database. One is the dragonsona of the other - an entity beyond Sornieth. Those in my databanks who are aware of this entity tend to refer to them as "Our Storyteller" to differentiate from the dragonsona, who is a writer, avid reader, and librarian of the same name. Both prefer they/them pronouns and enjoy referring to themselves as "An eclectic amalgam of confusingly combined oddities" when posed with this question.

They too are of the opinion that "Who are you?" is a question no one can truly answer in a few paragraphs. Our storyteller is not an actual librarian, but would love to have one (a library, that is. Unless one of their partners switches professions, they are much too busy to also have a librarian. Then again, more than one dragon in this collection is a librarian so perhaps they have a few after all.).

Q: So, they/them pronouns?
A: Yes. Technically they are gender-fluid all over the spectrum (including moments of "I'd rather not have a gender today at all, thank you"), but they do not expect anyone to keep up with the changeable nature of their gender identity. As such, they/them is a nice middle ground that is sometimes precisely accurate, and other times won't make them feel invalidated when presenting/roleplaying as or feeling more connected to their masculine or feminine selves.

They are also fine with accidental slips and welcome questions posed from genuine, open-minded curiosity about all of these tags.

Q: Do they accept random friend requests?
A: Not without previous interactions.

They prefer to at least interact with everyone on their friend list, even if infrequently or just on one, significant occasion. They also suffer from an unspecified form of amnesia (an actual medical diagnosis), which makes it difficult to remember who matches up with what interactions from that friend list.

Their friends are all understanding, but they still prefer to know everyone on that friend list does have some memory floating around detached from the name. This would no longer be true if their list was full of people they never really interacted with and would make it more difficult, possibly even impossible to recall those they interact with infrequently. Even though their friends understand, it would stress them out.

Q: Oops I sent a friend request anyway.
A: Please consider contacting them to let them know it was a blind request. This may save them from fretting that you are a forgotten person who might react poorly to being forgotten.

Q: We didn't have a significant interaction, I just think they seem like a really cool person to have as a friend, and/or we have a lot in common and I'd like to connect. How should I go about this?
A: First of all, they would like to send you many hearts <3 <3 <3. They want you to know that while they may not accept blind friend requests, their inbox is always open for friendly chatter.

It doesn't take much to get on their friend list, it just requires there be an actual interest in connection beyond a desire for a high friend count. Also they regularly forget to send out friend requests, so if you've been interacting for awhile, it's absolutely nothing personal if you haven't received one, by all means feel free to make the request and if you're uncertain I'll recognize your name, shoot me a PM <3

Q: Do they ever remove friends?
A: Rarely. If they happen to find a name on their list they do not remember who appears to no longer play the game anyway, or has been banned, they might remove them. There has only been one removal for more personal reasons, and that person was violating FR conduct rules anyway.

Q: Do they welcome critiques and/or corrections?
A: Only if specifically requested. They have people they know and trust for when they're wanting constructive criticism and corrections.

You are permitted to think something was bad or could be improved, of course. Think whatever you like - they have no wish to be the thought police. They just don't want to hear the parts where you think it could be improved. Again, they have people they trust and know well for that, who know them well in turn.

Also, many times it comes down to personal opinion anyway and they have a sense of their own aesthetic preferences. They would like to note this shouldn't be confused with broke-the-mold compliments that note how you typically dislike a specific aesthetic/theme, but they actually managed to design/write/etc an exception that you enjoyed. Those are always fun.

Q: How do they feel about pings?
A: If they are relevant, go for it, if you are wanting to argue/disagree, please don't @ them. If it's that important, take it to PMs. If they requested the ping by signing up for the pinglist, or saying something along the lines of "Oh! That's super cool, lemme know when you have more!" then you may also ping them with a link when you have more of that thing.

They are subbed to all the threads they start, but they do not mind if someone forgets and pings them anyway.

They also welcome pings when they, their dragons, or their threads are mentioned.

Q: They complimented me/my dragon, can I quote them?
A: Sure, go for it!

Q: I complimented them/their dragon and they quoted me in the bio, but I'm uncomfortable with being quoted and shy about potential confrontation. How do they feel about being asked to delete a quote?
A: They definitely want you to tell them you're not comfortable with being mentioned or quoted. They will not take this personally. That being said, please link the dragon in question because they have a lot of dragons with a lot of quoted compliments and a terrible memory for names. Also, please let them know if you're okay being listed as anonymous for the quoted compliment instead.

Also, you should know that their memory issues may prevent them from remembering you dislike being quoted. So future compliments you give them may also need to come with a "Please don't quote me" reminder. They will keep a list and try to remember to check it.
