S T O R Y
The King climbed upwards through the God's tower, his heart pounding in his chest. Blood and scars covered his body, yet he felt nothing but a sick sick sense of pride. The Noosphere hummed with the power of the God-Emperor's will, and the screams of a million men echoed to the heavens. He was the Omega Point—an apex of thought/consciousness/being, a single being made up of all things; a Singularity so great that even light was bent to his will. The Singularity was all-engulfing, the will of the God-Emperor so powerful that even history itself had been bent to his needs. And the Singularity had no mercy for those who opposed the King. And soon, he would be the One True God. The tower was vast, and as the King climbed higher, he saw the entire planet, lit up in the red light of the Noosphere, and felt its power wash over him. Sornieth was his now, and like the Tower of Babel, he would remake it in his own image. He would build the cities anew, and the Noosphere would be their nerve center, their very soul. And the billions of men and women and animals who lived on that planet would be his slaves. Yes, he would be God. He just needed to make to the Top of the Tower to claim his rightful place on the divine dais... A chill wind shook the tower, and the King's hair lifted. He was so very high up, and he could see so very far. His hands shook with fear as he looked down upon the world. He had always dreamed of such a place, such a prize. And now it was his. All history was now his to rewrite. But out of the corner of his eye, he saw something. A shadow, a Shade, moving on the darkness below. But the King did not move to strike. The Singularity could not be held back by fear. That which was righteous could not be undone by fear. But the Shade is not righteous. He could not let the King destroy history , this place, this moment. That which is not righteous should never be exalted. He would snuff out this false Light, even if that meant living in Darkness for aeons. The King tried to escape, but it was too late. The Shade gutted him, tearing out his insides and flinging him to the winds. The King's head struck against the mortal plane, his body no-longer an extension of the Singularity, and his concept spilled out into the mortal world. For ten thousand years, his body lay upon the mortal plane, bleeding out into the dust; doomed to eternally drift between Heaven and Hell, his soul a prisoner of the Singularity's eternal maw. What you see now is merely what remains after the world had healed. |
