 Sphaeria is considered lucky by almost everyone - Primal dragons are rare, after all - but this 'gift' is his darkest secret. He comes from cult to the Plaguebringer, the one practicing mutations and believing those are bestowed by their Mother as blessings which prove devotion, and are earned either by dragons traveling into the Wyrmwood or participating in a ritual. But this 'magic' is not natural - the Leechroot Mushroom that infects most of the flora of the Scarred Wasteland has taken a special hold onto the dragons, granting them spore abilities. While some learn to fiddle with poisons or become immune to diseases, after the ritual Sphaeria became a Primal. He gained magic potential he never knew existed, became able to read auras of living things around him, but lamentably, as fungus started sprouting through his eye sockets, he became completely blind. Sphaeria wandered for a while, with very vague idea of his location, getting by while only depending on own newfound divination, until he found the Project, which gladly, and even kind of persistently, took him in. Sphaeria sensed that something was off - and it was not the fact that only Pearlcatchers lived here, this was not that rare after all - but the air itself felt heavy - he couldn't see, but the dragons around him were mostly silent, unemotional, as if somehow... empty. Even after Resistance enlisted him, uncovering the truth, Sphaeria, instead of actively helping, preferred to stay put, hiding in shadows, only assisting with reading the ambiance and predicting possible dangers. But, alas, as a Primal, he gets a lot of attention - both from unsuspecting dragons and Conduct. When that happens, he has to force a smile and be polite and patient not to raise any suspicion, even while his whole being is screaming against it. Of course, he never mentions the origins of his abilities, and thankfully he is not asked about details - being a Primal still makes him respected, and Sphaeria skillfully uses it as his facade.
