Good to be back.

A shooting star...

Hedysara was caught out in the star's passage, but while she feels odd, she is not terribly sick. Presumably some combination of tundra hardiness and her element, or her fae familiar, have kept her from the worst of it. She has been taking extra shifts on the border patrol and offering her clanmates food, especially the quarantined Firestone.

Hedysara greets Greenskeeper Gathering with great relief, and has taken the occasion to take a long walk in the woods. She saw a strange dragon, but they vanished before she could get a good look or scent.

Hedysara is a quiet fixture of the clan, a jack-of-all-trades whose primary role is camp cook. She performs basic husbandry on livestock, butchery, drying, salting, pickling, smoking, and candying. She is aided by Beebalm in manners of fermentation, and by Firestone when heat is useful. When not busy with these duties, she is willing to lend a shoulder to any task asked of her. She wears a large knife at her side at all times, primarily for kitchen use. While any individual member of Cindercone Clan is required to be self-sufficient, her cooking and preserving are a great boost to clan morale.

Like her sister Sprucetip, Hedysara frequents the deep woods in her free time, where she gathers herbs and berries and generally enjoys her solitude. Sharp-eyed and sharper-nosed, she often comes across useful information while on these walks—whether visitors to the territory who didn't introduce themselves, or sickness in the neighboring centaur herds—and readily passes the information along to the clan-leaders.

Though generally liked, Hedysara is close with few dragons, the notable exceptions being her sisters and, oddly, the irascible, conspiratorial Explorer. She has also recently been cultivating a friendship with the lonely banescale Glynn.

Craft
Aside from cooking and preserving, Hedysara makes some complex knotwork, forming rugs, wall decorations, and minor wards. She does this frequently whenever she has a few minutes' downtime, whether waiting for patrons to her kitchen, listening to stories and news in clan evenings, or waiting for pots to boil.

Physical description
Hedysara is a fairly small, stocky tundra with comparatively large wings. Her fur is particularly thick and soft, and the feathers on her wings have an owl-like fringe, though neither are terribly waterproof. She has particularly sharp, curved claws, which she uses like an icepick for climbing. Her flight is graceful and quartering, and she has her mother's agility when climbing. She smells of animal fur and juniper.

Combat
Hedysara is a physical fighter, relying primarily on speed and agility over raw strength. She has a certain talent for battle, despite her breed, and goes forth to battle for ingredients fairly often. She often fights alongside border patrol Wrysight and Glynn when they are both available.

Origin
Hedysara, like her sisters, hatched at Northslope Clan. She stayed there for quite some time, until given an ultimatum to leave. She gave her allegiance as a prize in a raffle, but no one claimed it.

During the Solstice, Hedysara heard a voice in the trees—if not the same one her sister did, then one very similar. Since neither of them has said anything about the voice, neither are aware of the other's experience. Unlike her sister, she did not chase the voice.

Sprucetip suddenly charged in to claim her and dragged her back to the clan for reasons she has yet to share, as there seems to be more to it than mere sisterly love.

In Derecho Canyon, Hedysara was assigned camp cook. After the move to the Plague/Shadow border, she opened a small stand selling portable food to the Rogue's Camp's dragon and beastclan visitors. She grew fond of the work overtime, and transitioned over to a kitchen manager after Cindercone returned to Fire.

Kin
Hedysara is the daughter of Allspice, Kellinlii's twin brother, and Oreamne, both tundras and prominent members of Northslope Clan. Her mother's ancestry is unknown, and may include nocturnes as well as tundras; her father is largely skydancer and pearlcatcher, with a large dose of mirrors, guardians, and snappers as well. While she loves both of her parents, she feels largely estranged by distance and time.

Of her many siblings, two, Sprucetip and Ranger, are notable members of Derecho Canyon, and one, Moonfire, was previously a member of Cindercone Clan before being lost in the crossing. Two of her aunts, Kellinlii and Hazard, her nephew, Tarandrus, and her cousins Firestone and Nightforest are also members of the clan. She feels overshadowed by most of them in deed, and all of them in strangeness.

Familiar

This tiny deer lurks in the shadows near Hedysara, unnerving those who come to her for food with a ripple of eerie magenta in the dark.
