The end of an era, and the beginning of a new year. Cheer is a bright light in the darkness, a voice of love and kindness in a cruel world, a kind hand and listening ear. He sees beauty in everything and everyone- every smooth river rock, every glittering insect, every sad and jaded soul. He wants nothing more than to help others see the joy he sees. It's hard to be sad around him, though he knows a good cry can help, and if he can't make one laugh he'll gladly listen to their sorrows. His laugh is like a bell, and contagious, his smile is gentle and understanding.

In this new year, let us be joyful. Let us find happiness in the little things, and celebrate with our neighbors, and treat ourselves more kindly. Sadness and anxiety is necessary, and often unavoidable, but sometimes we must pull away and take care of our emotional health.
