Anatoli was the last of Kytha's first batch of creations. He was the only one to start awakening as his master still held him, and his first experience was of Kytha talking absentmindedly to himself and the warm feel of a candle's light. Anatoli was filled with his first emotion: hope. Whatever world he was coming into, it couldn't be without merit. It became the goal of his very being, the imprint on his shard of a soul and his purpose for life. The snuggles he got from his kin later only helped encourage those sunny feelings, and he knew he was meant to pass them on to others in need.

After Urann left, Anatoli metaphorically leapt into his role by keeping his sister Lara hopeful throughout the night. He reassured Kytha the next morning when the crafter saw one of his children gone already, and he listened with buoyant optimism as Kandia confessed her confusion about his very existence. To him, the world had been nothing but kind so far and even awful people seemed to have some piece of good in them.

Just after his patches finished stretching and multiplying to accommodate his growing self, Anatoli felt ready to bring his glowing demeanor to those more in need than the hard-working, content clan he was made in. He asked his master for his blessing, which he received; he even asked Kandia, the inspiration behind his own creation, and grinned broadly when she gave him luck and blessing. With innocence and trust, Anatoli set off to find somewhere which needed a little hope.
