Irritable | Alchemist of the Toxic Wastes | Scavenger

Though usually more content when left alone to practice alchemy, Tox acts as the "advisor" of the clan - a title that suggests he gives Andiron advice in dealing with most matters. In actuality, Tox is the driving diplomatic force behind the clan and most decisions made in regards to dealing with other clans come straight from him. He has no interest in taking credit for the vital role he plays, but when absolutely necessary, he will come forward and speak rather than talking through other dragons. He is a powerful enemy to have, but no dragon knows until it's too late - if they ever find out at all. He's rarely social on purpose, and prefers the solitude of his own lair to the hustle and bustle of dragon politics.

While many familiars of the Toxic Wastes clan spend much of their time living their own lives, Viddall the Spinel Vulstal spends most of his time in Tox's personal lair or out exploring with him for alchemal ingredients. If crystals drop from his fur, the other dragons never see them - Tox saves them all to use in his concoctions and experiments. The two seem to have utmost respect for one another, though other members of the clan sometimes report hearing Tox yelling at Viddall for knocking over important vials or eating ingredients.

Backstory
Much of Tox's past before the creation of the Toxic Wastes clan lies in mystery, and any attempts to glean information on the subject are quickly shut down, usually by being deflected into another conversation altogether. Even his closest friends know only a few things - neither of his parents were native to the Scarred Wasteland, both left him at a young age to directly serve entirely different deities, and he has an almost unnatural fascination with the Gembond virus.

While Ankarv was the one to find the location that would be their lair and Andiron was the one who dug the tunnels, Tox was the one who came up with the layout of their sprawling home and got permission from the Plaguebringer herself to make such alterations to her land. Ever since those early days he has been consulted on almost every lair change. While many clan members are entirely unaware of his overall influence, Andiron and Ankarv will never forget, nor will the scant few others he has allowed closer to his personal space - namely Basil, who sees more than meets the eye, and Cantio, who owes his life to Tox.

On most days Tox remains in his personal lair, mixing ingredients and crafting items out of a pit of boiling goo set into the floor of his cave. When he leaves, it is often to run simple errands at the Trading Post or to scavenge for items and creatures all across Sornieth. Nothing catches his eye more than the Onyx Cobras of the Starfall Isles and Ashfall Wastes; their presumed relation to Gembond makes them fascinating subjects for him, and he can never seem to gather enough - living or otherwise - to study and experiment on.

At other times, he is either dealing with diplomatic duties by Andiron's side or spending rare quality time with his small circle of close friends. Cantio seems to get this time the most often, but he also acts as Tox's assistant when he can, putting the two in close quarters to begin with. Despite a long-standing history of not liking others being around his work, Tox seems to enjoy the help - or Cantio's company in general.
