Biography
Senca
Senca doesn't talk much about the conflict that drove her clan from their generational home. Instead, she prefers to focus on the present. A humble farmer, Senca arrives to the Riftroot clan to convert their overgrown rose gardens into more useful fruit and vegetable fields. It's a project she's eager to start, a good way to keep her mind off everything else. Much to her surprise, it's also a controversial project within the clan. Legacy grumbles about how the clan has fallen, to destroy the rose gardens it so cherished. Even kinder dragons like Dawn and Nancy seem saddened, at first. Caught between their misgivings and Meilyr's encouragement, Senca begins to see why the clan had trouble finding someone for the job.
But in the end, the timing of her first harvest is perfect. Finch and Nancy have been planning a brunch, to bring the clan back together, and Senca's strawberries are the final ingredient that Parfait needs for the meal. To her surprise, Senca is invited to join the rest of the clan to eat. And while many dragons are too busy to attend, that lovely meal sticks in Senca's mind as the first moment she was truly included in the clan.
Her work is easier, after that. The fields are growing well, and only need maintenance. Of course, that's when Senca's rears its head.
Pita approaches Senca with a family heirloom belonging to the leaders of her previous clan, a family that was slain in the conflict. Senca balks at the memory, and then realizes Pita would have to be a looter to even have that banner. She accuses him of such, and his thin defences only fan the flames of her anger. Finally, he asks what he can do to make up for it, and in the heat of the moment, Senca demands that he join her in the fields to learn what real work feels like. She isn't expecting him to agree- but he does.
